Wed: 8th DH/sons flight on United got off with out a hitch and was on time. Son and My flight 40 minute delay...causing the plane to be deiced 2 times and running to make the next flight at Philly. But we made it and had a very nice seat mate on the last leg. Used ME and it took a little while to reach BCV, the driver was nice...but the wait was long. Art(?)entertained the children with magic tricks and he was very good-definatly made the wait bearable. Checked in at BCV( we were just given paperwork even though I mentioned to reservationist that we have never stayed here before)-AS a former hotel owner I was a little dissapointed that she didn't take the time to review where key places were in relation to our room. Met the greeter at BC(you know who I mean...He was great-a true asset to Disney). Did a quick dip in pool. Had dinner booked at Le Cellier (14th anniversary-nothing done that was special). Waitress was ok(fine) but we did not get any history of the breads that I heard a waiter giving a nearby table. DH/I had the NY strip steak-(G), and I had the cheese soup(VG) and DH had the Asian Shrimp(VG). We did an Illuminations Cruise with our Captain Jason-he was very good and we had a great time-TL cost was $275 for 3A and 5c(I invited Best friend and her children from home as our guests) and we had the boat decorated for our Anniversary-(IMO it was worth the cost-and I am a frugal person). Afterwards we went to Beaches/Cream for a Kitchen Sink for the 8 of us-we still couldn't finish it. Twila our waitress was very nice and had every one sing. Night was Perfect!!!
Thurs 9th- My feet are already as big as my sneakers
EE at MK-and we had a 8am ADR at CP-we got there 20 minutes late, but we were quickly seated and had a great breakfast(VG). Did a few rides- Stitch, Buzz, and Splash I was not feeling well so we went back to the room for a swim and rest. Had 6:30 ADR's at Brown Derby- I had the French Onion SOup and DH had the Sake Crab cake(both VG), for dinner we both had the Filet(mine done Med was VG-better than Le Cellier) and (DH-who like his rare-was not impressed he though his was ok-Le Cellier's was better for him) Desserts were great we both had the Happiest Celebration on Earth. We went on to Fantasmic and then back to the hotel. Nice evening.
Friday 10th(crowds still very doable)(Lost my Cell phone)(still suffering with huge swelling in feet and ankles)
We got up and had a light breakfast in the room. Off to Epcot. We were at the International Gate way rope for the drop. I went to soarin to get FP tickets. DH and kids went to Test Track, and I ran(
)to meet them. We did TT together...I loved it and would do again(I can not do the inversions or rapid drops due to vertigo), only bad thing was we stopped 3-4 times(there were obviously problems) and they even offered for all of us to go again(we said no since we had to get over for our FP for Soarin)but the stopping didn't bother me. Over to Soarin..got on quick...I was a little sick due to the vertigo and one of my DS leaning foward to make me nervous
, but I thought I would have enjoyed the ride more if son had not made me nervous. I kept leaning back to reassure my fear of heights. After we exited Soarin, I got FP for the Land boat ride. We grabbed a bite to eat-bagles, crossants, and fruit salad...all very good. Went on the boat ride, very intersting(espically since I am a gardner-and it was helpful to sit and relax). After boat ride on to Innovations(West I think to make the robots). Apparently this is like a 20 minute -30 minute thing, we had to wait for the next group, while waiting kids popped over to play Mickey Tag(kinda set up like and TV show with multiple contestants)-my boys (7yo)loved it and had fun. It was our turn to make Robots and play the game...very long I wasn't in to it(but my kids had fun-and it's all about the kids right
) But I would never do alone or with impatient children(or younger than 5yo children IMO). Then off to Italy for lunch. Had no ADR, it was about 2pm, and we were seated in about 10 minutes. DH had Chicken Parm(excellent per DH), I had Lasagna(good but very heavy) we all had desserts Chocolate Cake(dry) and lady bug(good) and Chocolate Mousse(VG). We watched the drummers at Japan and then went in to do the Pearl(a family tradition)-DS picked an oyster with a 7 3/4 mm oyster
, and of course we had to get Youghio(sp) cards. Back to hotel for a rest and quick dip in the pool. Had 6:30 Adr at 1900 Park fare with friends from home, got there early and kids were pin trading, took lots of photos of flower arrangements. Went in for dinner. Saw Cindy, Mice, Fairy Godmother, and Minnie Mouse. No Prince Charming...kinda bumbed my friend and I out...we wanted our picture taken with him...but food was great. The kids ate tons(adults found plenty to eat too). After dinner guys went up stairs for Cigars, and Ladies and children went for a walk outside. We made our way to the dock to watch Wishes and Eletric Water Parade(great view) took boat to MK and bus back to BCV. Tried to do Beaches and Cream for Icecream...too busy. Went to do laundry!!
Sat 11th in am
have to look at the pics to update)
At about 12 we caught a cab to go to Disneys WWofS to see the Braves vs. The NY Mets. The game was great..nice stadium...definitly a change from the usual Disney. Saw tons of cheerleaders and they were very well behaved. After the game transportation was really an issue-Disney provides transportation from WWS to MGM but we waited over an hour in the bus line and still hadden't gotten on so broke down and got a cab back to BCV. For anothe dip in the pool, and again trying to just get the swelling down on my ankles. We were susposed to make a 50's prime time Cafe dinner...needless to say...we didn't...I was soaking in the hottub, and having a cute conversation with someone's children about snowdays. Finally I managed to hobble up to the room and got dressed to make the late Fantasmic. I think we got to MGM at 8pm grabbed trukey legs and pizzas for dinner and brought them up to Fantasmic. Got great center seats(usually we are in the reserved section)and enjoyed a quick dinner. Took the boat back to BCV and packed to move to VWL.
