So frustrating. Had CCV booked for 12/20/19 - 12/24/19 (checkout on the 24th). Today (1/23) tried to move the reservation forward one day to 12/21 - 12/25 and was told there is no availability on 12/24 (12/25-29 are available). CM said others simply booked the night first. This normally shouldn't happen, right? Does CCV not being sold out have something to do with this?

Sorry, forgot to mention, it's for a Deluxe Studio (NOT the one with walk-in shower).

Of course, the one type that is not available. I suggest you waitlist the DS and book the walk-in, then stalk stalk stalk like a crazy person for the next week or so.

My suspicion it has to do with all the inventory not being declared yet. What likely happened is that Disney put a new person in their inventory for the nights it was sold out (prior to 12/24) and then took Copper Creeks inventory for the nights not sold out (12/24). This would have been part of their Welcome Home Reservation in this case. To be clear if this is the case I think it 100% is in Disney's right because that person still would be within the consecutive night window that was allowed. The other case is because that would be a very busy night with 100% occupancy across all Home Types Disney took one out for maintenance issues that could occur which they are allowed to do. So that way a room is available to float people if 1 room has an issue.

Those days could also be part of a guaranteed week, which would be unavailable earlier.

The whole week would have to be exercised in a guaranteed week so i would find it unlikely that 1 day in the middle of the week would not be available.

The only time a guaranteed week doesn’t need to exercise the entire week is for the 4 run Disney events they sold special event rights for.

So if you want less than the full week you need to cancel the week then book at the 11 month window.

Most of the studios are declared. I doubt the handful that aren't make much of a difference. CCV has a maximum of 78 bookable studios. You were working within a specific category as well, which cuts it down further. It has all the cabin points. And it's December.

There are 3 dedicated studios yet to declare, and 5 lock off two bedrooms.

Correct and those can be the ones that have created the issue he saw. They are booked at capacity but still selling. So they put new owners in those undeclared units on sold out days then take declared inventory on available nights. Which leads to missing nights in the middle of two available nights that are 11 months + some days away.

All in all I think the issue likely isn’t nefarious and probably had a reason due to undeclared inventory or floating a room on one of the busiest nights for maintenance.

Or it is the natural conesequence of cabin points being sold against a small number of studios

That has nothing to do with a room being missing in the middle of 11+7. I can 100% say with certaininty while the cabins create more competition at 11 months it doesn’t make rooms disappear past 11 months.

Spoke with a member services supervisor. He said this is not common and could be due to a number of reasons, including not all rooms being declared, room being taken out for maintenance, etc. He couldn't help, but suggested a waitlist.

Welcome Home visit or a fixed week.
