Tried out the "Kid Leash"

I never have understood why some people are so "against" the harnesses but ALL FOR strollers. When I put DS3 in a stroller he is physically restrained to the point that he can barely move, he just has to sit there, for hours!! When he is in a harness, he can walk and exercise those legs and all that kid energy that is bursting through his veins. :confused3 It just kills me the things that "society" has deemed appropriate. :confused3 That's why I don't give a rat's behind about what they think.........

I agree with you on not caring what people think...but I also understand their point of view. It seems to me the people who are most against them either had kids that never walked away from them (lucky dogs)...or they don't have kids at all. I remember going to WDW when I was 10 and my little brother was 4 and my mom put a wrist harness on him and I thought "that is the dumbest thing i've ever seen." Now 15 years and 3 kids later i've definetly changed my opinion...I just bought 3 of them...one for each of my boys for our trip next month. I was even looking through some really old family pics the other day and there was one of my dad when he was 3 with my grandmother at the worlds fair in seattle...and sure enough he had a harness on (as did many other children in the pic). I don't really care what other people think of me when I use it...all I care about is knowing that my kids are safe...and if they try to run off they aren't going to get far at all.

We just got back from our trip and had a wonderful time. It was hot, hot, hot. We didn't use the "purse" once!:rotfl2: The crowds were so light that we didn't have to wait for rides at all. She had a slight cold, so we did carry her a lot. At MGM we used the Hip Hammock because there wasn't too much for her to do there.

Everytime when we went to WD, we had a leash. LOVED IT!! There would be people come up to me and compliment me on using the leash, that it's such a smart idea :thumbsup2 and asked where I got it. I never did see the parks sell them:confused3 We used it more in the stores, than out in the parks, because she would want to run all around in the store, she did not want to hold my hand. When we were out in the park she would want to stay in the stroller.

I think they are a great invention to keep a child safe....when I was a young Mom and first saw then I was agast.....then I had to make a trip to DC with my young son (2 then) who always was slipping out of my hand to run off to get to something he found "interesting". I chose to get one for our trip and I am so glad I did...they drive so fast and I could see him easily running out and runover in the traffic....now as a DGM I bought one for my DGD who is also now 2. She will have her stroller as well but I like being able to hold her hand and walk as well to see things and know form experience she will dash off quickly to the next fasinating thing...so to keep her safe I'll hold her hand and use the leash as a back up as I did before...its just good parenting!...now as for the parents I see that use them like a dog lead...HUMPH!!!

We're leaving for Disney on Tuesday and I bought a "Kid Leash" for my DD who is 16 mos. It's really cute - it is a little pink purse with a strap across her chest and around her waist (it's new at BRU). We tested it out at the mall on Friday and I found out how CRAZY she walks! She walks, stops, turn, walks some more, zig zags, runs, walks, stops and turns. It was hard to walk at the same pace as her! I didn't want her to get jerked by the strap.
I'm planning on bringing it with us, but don't know if we'll actually use it. She does like the purse, though.
