So, last year when we were there, stumbling upon PUSH in Tomorrowland was one of the highlights of my girls' trip. (He told my DD, dressed as Snow White, that he could be the 8th dwarf...Trashy...and scooted off singing Heigh-ho Heigh-ho) SO, when we went back to MK on our last day, the girls of course wanted to see him again. We spent alot of time in TL looking for him, and every CM I asked said they had no idea where he was (didn't call like they do for normal characters) or when he would be out or even where he would come from. My girls left the park in tears that day (NO...it didn't ruin their whole trip, but they were sad).

So, I know they are going to want to see him again when we go in February. So, who has tricks on how/when/where to find him? Where does he usually come out? Any tricks for spotting the "handler" that accompanies him? I'll take any advice!!! :hippie: TIA!

Every time we've seen Push he was near the bathrooms across from the Indy Speedway.

Check out this website...

Click Magic Kingdom and then scroll down for Push the Talking Trashcan appearance times. Hopefully someone can chime in with info as to his exact location w/in Tomorrowland. We have yet to meet him.

We saw him in March just before the afternoon parade started. He was in the HUB (pretty much right in the middle to the right of the Walt/Mickey statue) and had come from Tomorrowland. My kids thought he was awesome, I was taking a video and he was screaming "take my picture CHEESE, CHEESE, CHEESE, I'm the luckiest garbage can in the whole world"

I've tried using the Steve Soares site. We showed up at Star Traders (right next to where he usually comes out) about 10 minutes before SS said he'd appear. We looked around a bit and I went to pay a few minutes before he was scheduled to come out per SS. I mentioned that to a cashier and the CM next to her who had just arrived in the store said she had just seen him over by the castle a few minutes earlier. We went outside confused (the castle wasn't on the schedule) and he didn't come out. We never did see him. Sigh.....

We met PUSH in May on the first day of our trip, on the bridge connecting the hub to Tomorrowland. It was so great! I've been to WDW many times before and had never see him. We have some funny PhotoPass pictures...

Went back to MK on the last day of our trip and didn't see him.

We saw him back in 2008 on the bridge from the hub to Tomorrowland in the late afternoon ~4. I don't see Push listed on the various character greetings sites, so your best bet would likely be to check with Guest Services when you enter the MK.

I have to say that every time we've seen PUSH, "he's" been in a completely different spot. Once he was a "palm tree" outside the park where you get tickets for AK. Once he was a regular trash can heading over the bridge out of Tomorrowland.

I think it's just dumb luck if you run into him.

.

At AK, it's not PUSH, it's "Wes Palm". He usually runs into people just outside the ticket gates at AK. I once saw him chase a foreigner from Asia all over the entrance way:lmao: the poor man had no idea why this tree was bothering him! too funny. Wes Palm kept yelling at him "come back, come back!"

Nope, we met both Wes and Push at AK. Wes was out front of AK but Push was by Rafiki's planet watch out front of the building. He is very cute and DD about fell over when he talked to her! Then some naughty boys tried to turn him over and off he went very quickly.

Thanks everyone!

I was lucky enough to catch a video of him too...we caught him right outside of Star Traders, and that's where he was heading (assuming heading back in for a break), but when I asked the CMs IN Star Traders on our last day...one looked at me like I had 3 heads. Must have been earning his ears still...lol!

On the one hand, I really LIKE that he's random, and it's just luck if you find him, makes it that much more special...but it would be nice for them to say, "PUSH will be out between the hours of x and y in the general vicinity of z." Which, I guess we know he comes out in Tomorrowland (which is a "general vicinity"), but the times he's out would be nice. Or even a sign at Star Traders saying if he's out or "being emptied". :)

I was there in September, and I asked a CM in tomorrowland. He said Push comes out on the hours, starting at 10. Dont know if that's always true or only for when I was there. We saw him 2 times using this knowledge, he was by the bridge to tomorrowland one time, and in front of StarTraders the other time.

By the way, best Push story I have was in 2002, right after 9/11, my friend and I were literally 2 of about 50 people in MK. It was eerie. Push was out, we had just ridden Space Mountain 12 time (yes, in a row) and Push started following us saying "ooooh, college girls!!! I Loooove college girls!" We were busting up!

In MK it is Push the trash can
In AK it is Wes Palm the palm tree at the park entrance and
Pipa the recycle bin at Conservation Station

I think I read that Wes Palm no longer comes out.

We found the times listed on the Steve Soares site reliable for PUSH sightings when we were there in September of this year. PUSH was close to the Buzz Lightyear Spin ride, beside the Lunching Pad. My DS loves seeing PUSH.

He was in the same spot in 2009 and we also found Steve Soares' times reliable then.

Good luck on your quest for him....and have a magical trip!:wizard:

We saw push twice on our trip in october this year.

DH had a knee brace on and push just rolled up and started asking him if he had hurt his knee and was he ok. Then he said put your knee up against me and he started making all these kissing noises. DH and I loved it it was the first time we had met him.

Bonus was that when we were watching him Stich appeared and started interacting with him and the people watching it was great.

I have actually watched PUSH come in and out from Star Traders so I know that is one of the places he comes in and out off.

? Any tricks for spotting the "handler" that accompanies him? I'll take any advice!!! :hippie: TIA!

SPOILER ALERT!

I have no idea when he comes out, but I do know how to spot the handler - he's the guy wearing a jacket in 85 degree weather (!) talking in to his sleeve, and carrying a man purse he never takes his other hand out of.

When I saw Push last year I was so amazed by how interactive he is, so I started looking around trying to figure out the technology behind it and pretty much figured it out. No less magical to me though! Push is hilarious!!!!

Exactly as stated above. Handler had on a brwon jacket and a hat and was talking into his sleeve. Didnt notice the ManBag though. We met push outside the restrooms across from the speedway. He left when some very naughty children started kicking him  With the naughty childrens parents thinking they were just adorable

Thanks! I was telling my sister about it later, and she said that she had been nursing her DD and saw a guy sitting and appeared to be talking into his sleeve. I didn't ask her anymore at the time because I was just so excited about our little moment. :)

and that's horrible about the kids kicking him! Geeze!!!

I am loving these stories!!! If those of you have video have it posted online somewhere and are willing to share, I'd love to see it. Here's what I managed to catch of our encounter...

And while we're talking about these "street creatures" (I'm sure someone knows the official name of them, but I don't ;) ), does Ms. DiVine still come out at AK? She was another of my girls' (and mine) favorite memories from the World. We skipped AK last year and opted for DHS that we had skipped the year before (I insist on 2 days at MK ;) ), and I'm thinking of maybe trying to convince my mom to go back to AK for at least a half day in Feb...but she's not a fan of AK...she's got a "been there done that" attitude towards that park. But for me, there are still parts that I've never seen, since we always seem to do the same thing everytime we go there (Lion King, Safari, Parade, and that Dino Carnival area), so I'd like to get out to Rafiki's and some of the other shows. If Ms. DiVine is there I might be able to convince her. ;)
