:confused3 Does the fort have anything special going on on Halloween itself? We have been down in October and stayed at a hotel, and have gone to the MNSSHP but several people said the MNSSHP is really crazy on Halloween night. We will be down the last week of Oct and first week of Nov, but I was hoping the kids could do some campground trick or treating. Also, can we decorate our site/tt for halloween? I already have a mickey lamp post in the works.....my hubby is going "supply shopping" this weekend....he dosnt know it yet, but he is!!

They normally have a Halloween version of the campfire, and there is also the Haunted Hayride that you can take at the Fort. It's basically the normal hayride, but they do it all up Halloween style ;) Used to be that the Headless Horseman would actually chase you, but last year that was removed. Hopefully they bring it back this year!!!

And of course you can decorate your site for Halloween!! You can decorate your site anytime you want, for any reason you want! I would say Halloween is probably the second most decorated holiday behind the Christmas time decorations.

What Colson said..... and yes, the kiddies can go trick or treating from site to site. I don't know who has more fun, the kids or the adults....

We were there last year for Halloween and gave out several bags of candy to the kids. We plan to be there the week of Halloween again this year as well.

Yep, I'll be there Halloween also. I was there early October last year, and the Halloween decorations were in full force already.

Hey Carol,

You'll be in Loop 2000, right? I'm trying to convince DH to go camping that w/e. Maybe we can meet up. I might have to extend the trip now too!!:cool1:

Wow, the Headless Horseman chasing the hay ride...that would be so cool! Halloween at the Fort sounds like so much fun I'm going to have to plan a future trip during that time!

Actually, I'll be somewhere in 1600 - 1900. That week is a rally with other T@B trailers, and the group organizer arranged a group rate in a full hookup pet loop. I'll be arriving Saturday the 25th and checking out on November 1st (but will not start driving home till about 4pm on the 1st).

That might work out better, b/c HD will probably want Loop 1500 again anyway.:rotfl: I'll try to keep you posted if we do end up going camping at the Ft. for this time period.

Thank you so much for the info! Now I will have to start looking for Halloween decorations online or just wait until September. We arent going until Oct 2009, but I will start collecting stuff now for sure. I am trying to convince the husband to go THIS October even for a short trip, so far, no luck. Thats cool that the kids can trick or treat in the park. Again, thanks to you all!
