Trick or Treat Question

I just want to add that just because you see kids going around in mini vans, doesn't mean they're not kids from your area. When my kids were little, my husband would drive us around. It's very cold in Pennsylvania in October for the most part, so it was always a way to warm the kids up a bit (even though I did dress them properly - they still don't have on coats). I'm sure some who saw us thought we were coming in from another town and I know some knew us personally and knew that wasn't so. I just don't think it's fair to say one way or another unless you're really sure.

I have never taken my kids outside our town.

I give candy to anyone who comes to the door. Everyone gets the same candy and the same amount, and it is all good candy because I only buy what we will want if we have some left over (though we have had no leftovers since living in our current neighborhood).

I have seen kids get dropped of in vehicles in our neighborhood, but I don't believe it is because of any sort of greed type of thing where they think they are getting better candy or something as we don't live in an upscale area - we live in the middle of the city. I believe it is because our homes are fairly close together, it is a safer neighborhood than some nearby, and there is not a lot of traffic.

If I was going to have any sort of "rules" about the candy I handed out, I wouldn't bother to do it at all, as I just wouldn't find that fun.

We just hand out equally to all of the kids that come up too. It's too hard to keep track of the different kids and it's much more fun that way. It's usually chocolate of some kind and Skittles (if I can keep from eating them ).
