I can't wait for your report! We have 17 more days before our trip and I have been anxiously looking forward to the night of the first party so that we can hear all about it. I hope you have a great time!

So where in Oregon are you? I remember the days of the Halloweens so cold you had to wear sweats under your ghost sheet costume.....man I don't miss those at all! LOL 65 doesn't sound cold to you, but live here for a while and you'll change your mind! LOL I do miss the snow, but not enough to move back! LOL

You will get candy, our first ToT party DBF and I did not have costumes and we had NO problems getting our bags just as full as the kids' bags. :)

We're in Grants Pass - about 50 miles up I-5 from the Cal/Or border. Oh yes, we've had to do "Halloween in layers" several times. And I hear ya on getting climatized - I lived in Arizona for 11 years growing up and was VERY used to being able to wear shorts for trick or treating :lmao:

cool to hear the costumes aren't manditory, but we'll be decked out anyways ;)

Very cool that you still get into the "spirit" of the evening :thumbsup2

Oh cool! Have a great time and post some pictures if you get any - or al least tell us how it went either here or in the October Group TR! :goodvibes

Grants Pass is my hometown! I'm in the midwest now but all of my family are still in that area. Say 'Hi' to the mountains and trees for me! I miss them almost as much as I miss Dutch Bros Coffee. :)

So I finally bought our party tickets yesterday. SO excited. I've never been to DL during Halloween. I tried to get tickets for the 23rd but they were already sold out. Figured out Thursday actually worked better for us though since the DL closes that night at 9 anyway. It's all about how many hours we can get in. :)

The only bummer for us though is that the party is in CA instead of DL. We WILL be dressing up and wanted to give those pirates a run for their money. (my soon to be DH was actually really disappointed that he couldn't dress as a pirate and ride POTC) Heh.

Ive been going to MTTP since DL started it and although the bags arent HUGE, they arent in any ways tiny...the thing I like about it is they dont give you the dumb kind of candy...all of it is really good and we always have candy left over that I end up putting out for trick or treaters on halloween...and say if 3 or 4 of you go, thats a HUGE amount of candy...now if you are candy freaks that is a totally different story lol...last year it was really hot during the day and the night we did the party it was pretty warm...it got cooler as the night progressed but if the weather now is any indication of how its going to be this year, then Im seriously thinking its going to really be cold at night (im from california so anything under 65 is cold for me lol) and a pp asked how many people they let in for the party max? if Im not mistaken I think its 5000 and in that park even sold out its not massive at all...every year DL is doing better and better on the Halloween stuff...Im excited to go..just 3 more weeks:woohoo:

When I called ticketing to check on tickets for the night we were going I was told they had 2500 tickets for the event each night and the night we were planning on going only 500 had been sold. That was last week. We are going to the party on October 22.

Do children under age 3 need a ticket? I have a DS2 and he doesn't need a regular admission ticket so just wondering if he would or wouldn't for the party?? And if he doesn't, can he still trick or treat? Thanks!

Children under 3 don't need a ticket and yes, he can trick or treat along with everyone else ( It's the same as the regular park policy where kids under 3 don't need regular tickets but can ride the attractions).

Really? Very cool :cool1: I'll say "hi" to the mountains and trees ...and the rain - lol I'm sure Dutch Bros will make it around the world soon enough. They have stands from Washington state to Arizona at this place :lmao: And I remember when it was just the two brothers running a single stand out at RCC ;)

Oh yes, gotta squeeze in as many hours as you can - glad you got your tickets! We're doing a Thursday for the same reason. And I know - it would be so very cool to be able to run around MK in costume. Run around Tom Sawyer island looking for that buried treasure pirate:

:)

It is nice that that applies to special ticketed events too :goodvibes

I remember one year we took our son trick or treating in our home town and it was -13 degrees F. (We live in Northern Alberta.) There was snow blowing all over the place, and we were slipping and sliding on the ice all over the roads and sidewalks as we walked around the block. With the 'wind chill' factor taken into consideration, it was around -25 degrees F. Needless to say, we had very silly costumes, as we were so bundled/covered up to protect us! :rotfl:

I find it so interesting how we get acclimatized to our weather, no matter where we live.

I LOVE how warm CA feels to us when we visit!!:)

Really? We were told that they did....we've bought one now what a waste of money :(

The info. on DLR's website says that children under 3 don't need tickets. I'm sorry that you were told the wrong information over the phone. Maybe you should contact them to see if you can get a refund since you were given the wrong information.

We've only done the WDW one several years ago(and loved it!!)

My wife and mom will be there Friday, and we can't tell if it's as big as the one at WDW, with a parade and fireworks, or if it's just the candy and limited crowds....any thoughts?

The party at DCA is much smaller than the one at WDW. There will be games, trick or treat stations, dancing with the characters and a small small parade. But the price compared to WDW's reflects this difference. It is still alot of fun! :yay: I took my family last year and they had a ball, and the time went by too fast.

Now if you want to see Halloween fireworks and the cool overlays, just go to DL where the price of admission for the day gets those perks. :thumbsup2:cool1::goodvibes

I know Grant's Pass, I've never been there but I know of it. :) People used to ask my why I always wanted to be a sheet ghost....well honestly, because I could wear clothes underneath and it didn't look bad! LOL

It's definitely not as big, there is a cavalcade not a parade (or there was last time we went) and no fireworks in DCA, they do the fireworks over in DL. You can probably see them but you will want to see them up close in DLR as well. Candy, limited crowds, rides will be open, villans are supposed to be out.......

Brrrrr! That would be an experience! When it gets too cold here we hit the "Harvest Festival" at the big church downtown - they have fun, games, and candy indoors ;)

You are so right about getting acclimatized though. Our last trip to DLR was in January of 2005 and we were walking around in shorts and t-shirts most of the time. The locals thought we were nuts! :lmao:

Really? We were told that they did....we've bought one now what a waste of money :(

Yes, I also think you should give them a call and see if you can get a refund :thumbsup2

Yeah, I can see the bonus of doing the sheet and then having whatever layers you needed underneath :) This year I'm going as a "poor man's" Barbossa. The costume has a shirt, vest, and suede coat so I figure I'll stay pretty warm pirate:

What number do you call to find out how many have been sold? I'm going on 21st. How cool would it be to only have 500 people in the park???

We'll be there on the same night as you and we chose Wednesday night because we were hoping for light crowds too.
