Trick or Treat Party on Halloween Night?

Last year we went to the Trick or Treat party at DCA at the beginning of October and it was CRAZY busy. We waited 45 min for one princess! It was a madhouse, way more people than I expected BUT the kids had a blast. We are planning a trip the week of Halloween and the only night we can go is ON Halloween. Has anyone been on Halloween night? Just wondering how busy it might be.

We did this in 2008 and it was sold out (it fell on a Friday night that year)- but it is the only time we have been so I have nothing to compare it to. We didn't do a princess until the end of the night and then it was about 20 min. wait. Mickey and Minnie were the longest at 40 minutes and that is because they took a break part way through. It never felt crowded to me and the candy lines were only a few minutes so it was nice. That being said I would do it again in a heartbeat!

As you've done it before, you will likely already know to get your tickets the first day they go on sale. We planned to do it on Halloween last year and couldn't get tickets before sellout, so we ended up there on the night before Halloween. It wasn't crowded at all and entirely enjoyable.
