oh and I lost a day of work and I'll be off tomorow too and I just cant afford for things like this to happen. I am feeling so down, my house is a mess and just everything is bad =. remembe that old commercial for calgon take me away?

I had to go to the hospital today, my hand had ballooned up on the palm into a shiny swollen bubble thing. They had to lance it

drain the fluid and pus away and I had 2 shots and antibiotics to take, they are checking me for a staph infection. I had pain moving up my arm like it was blood poisoning - all so fast I just cut my hand on the pork chop on sunday.

I got some pain killers too but I feel sick to my stomach

Oh you poor thing! I hope you start feeling better very quickly. Pain killers can make you nauseous, take em with food.

Now go draw a bath (keep your hand out!) and let calgon take you away.

When it rains, it pours. Let the housework sit, worry about work tomorrow, you need to get some rest tonight to fight that infection! Tomorrow's a new day, you can clean up the house a little at a time, and since you're home, you can DIS with all of us! Now there's something to look forward to...

Did they say these symptoms are related to the raw pork?

Cellulitis? My DH had a cut on his foot. He felt unwell, then the tissue started swelling and was hot.

I don't know I didn't hear them say that word but I was pretty all day. The pus was a pale green/cream color with streaks of blood and some clear fluid too, it hurt so much when they did the lancing. For some reason they couldnt freeze my hand to do it all. I cried like a baby, im not proud of it

Thanks everyone, now that its all bandaged up tightly and I know I have the meds and shots in me I feel better about it all. I knpw it sounded crazy to be attacked by a pork chop but I was pretty scared last night, this piece of meat almost did me in.

Oh dear, sorry about your hand, yikes, that sounds awful . How are you today? Thank God you went to the hospital, hope the meds kick in soon and you have a speedy and complete recovery. I have boneless pork chops thawing for, but after reading this, I shall never look at them the same way again.

Its me, the pork chop victim! I am feeling better but my hand is still sore and stiff, I don't need the pain meds to manage, but last night I woke up with it throbbing and popped one. I wanted to go back to work tomorrow - I hav missed 3 days now but I am supposed to get the dressing changed tomorrow and the infection checked. so bascially I have missed a weeks pay.


No test results yet (staph)

My husband and boys had the chops, I was too annoyed to eat but I had some ice cream later loll

DH did them in the oven with mushroom soup and serbed them on egg noodles

I truly hope your hand is doing better; it reminds me of when my mom got a little scratch playing with their cat, and that night her hand swelled up HUGE and got extremely hot, and earned her a trip to the ER. Scary stuff!
