This is probably a silly question, but I am totally clueless about this. DS and his girlfriend are thinking of doing the Disney Tri in September. They have only ever done local events. Is there a place for them to store their bikes? They are hoping to book a value resort with free dining. Thanks.

Hi Nancy,
I did the Disney Tri last September and had a great time. I arrived on Friday and the race was on Sunday. Friday night I kept my bike in my room at POFQ and then Saturday I caught a special bus for the Triers at POR to bring me and my bike over to Fort Wilderness so I could rack it in the transition area. If you have anyother questions I'd be happy to answer them.

I noticed that you are in Canada, so DS will be flying into Orlando. He needs to start looking into options for getting the bicylcle to Florida. Airlines can charge upto $200 additional for the bike. You can look into shipping it via UPS or FedEx or if they are willing to ride a different bike for the Tri, then there are several bike shops in Orlando that will rent them a bike for the day. I bring this up, because it is one of the things you don't imediately think about when doing a destination Tri.

I'm lucky, we only have an 11 hour drive, so I load the bike up on the minivan and road trip it. Please feel free to ask if you have anymore Tri questions!
