Trial Club Level Fastpass+ Purchase Program Planning & Discussion

Here's hoping I'm not being redundant in asking the following question.
Called DSS today to start the CL FP process since I'm a bit past the 90 day check in period and was told I cannot until I'm at 90 days from checkout day. Anyone else being told this?

It's so contrary to most every other plan WDW offers.
Oh and for the record I'm up to page 42 of this so far 62 page thread, LOL.

Yes, I’ve been told 90 days from checkout date. Which is really different then their normal time frame of X many days from checkin.

I believe the 90 days from check-out is due to a limitation in their software that permits them to reserve only days that are within that range.
I'm sure the cast members have heard enough confusion on this that they'd rather it be done the "normal" way too.

Does anyone have the answer to this?

I'm trying to modify my 60 day FPs which were booked by my CM on my CLFP days. For HS and EP, I was able to modify them to any time. For MK, the only times available for all rides are 11:00, 5:00 and 5:30. My 60 day window is 9/7. Do you know how "soon" all times will be loaded?

All times are already in the system.

If your MK day is an MVMCP day, the FP windows end at 6:00p.

Yes, this program has always been set up as 90 days from check-out, so what you are being told is normal.

It is a party day. But why does every single ride only have an 11:00 option and then nothing until 5:00?
When are your CLFPs and other regulars booked? The system won’t show you any available slots that overlap what you have booked.

I am sooooo totally confused... :confused:
Let me see if I've got this correct...
If I make all my "regular" fp selections for earlier, and my CL for selections later (doing 3 and 3, same park)
I can begin adding FPs for other attractions AFTER my first 3 regular FPs are used and BEFORE the beginning of my CL FPs . Only caveat being that they must be timed after completion of the CL FPs?

Scenario:
I book 12noon, 1pm, and 2 pm CLUB LEVEL FPs (Any attraction s) and then book
9 10, and 11 am REGULAR fast passes in MK, for PP, 7D, and Dumbo, once I've scanned my MB at Dumbo, I can now make a FP for 3pm, for maybe Astro Orbiter, and continue to make FPs after each completed FP...
But, if I book CL fast passes first, I have to wait until after 2 pm to book more same day fast passes.
Do I have this correct?
Gah!!!
This is so confusing!
Just trying to utilize my 6 fast passes judiciously!

TIA!

You seem to have it right.

You can book more regular FPs for before your CL FPs, as long as the timing doesn't conflict. For example, if you have regular FPs at 9, 10, and 11am and CL FPs for 3, 4, and 5pm, then you can book more regular FPs after your 11am FP. So you could get additional FPs for 12pm, 1pm, etc.
Wow that is hard to explain...hope that makes sense! Although I don't know if doing it the way I explained would really make sense if you're staying in the same park. I scheduled mine this way (regular FPs in morning, CL FPs in late afternoon/evening), but we're planning on park hopping.

Ummm how do I do this? LOL I am so lost on how to plan the timing of FP+. We haven't had a trip since they started FP+ and we are doing the club level extras on top and I am completely and totally confused. Any wisdom you can share, I would really appreciate it. What time should I start them? And then one every hour after? Take a break for lunch or just fit lunch in before or after one {doing QS lunches}. Should we do the regular FP+ first and then the club level ones, does that even matter?

We are early risers and it's my son's first trip, so I assume we will be up early and to the parks but maybe not exactly rope drop every day bc he's 5. :)

Thank you!

@lambdabeta
@bpx2

:thanks:

So basically, the best scenario is to book CL fast passes for AFTER regular fast passes. That way, I'll have a better choice of afternoon and evening fast passes?!?
Yes?
Yes if you are staying in MK. This scenario may not work if you are park hopping or going to a park with tiers. It is totally up to you. I am doing the same thing you are right now. I am trying to get my park schedule and FP+ lined up because I book this in less than 2 weeks. I have been all over the board with booking CLFP's and regular ones, park hopping and which parks on which days. This is too much stress for vacation. I totally get your frustration. Good Luck!

@lambdabeta

Thanks!
This time, we are doing NO park hopping. With a 4 y/o first visit, we plan to return to the same park each evening, after an afternoon rest. (Us grandparents will probably need it as much as the 4 y/o, lol!)

I'll be honest, I'm intimated giving someone with no FP experience advice on this program... I can't imagine how you feel. I feel pretty comfortable with FPs, the parks, how we like to do things, etc.... and I found planning with this quite difficult! :-)

But my opinion is this program really is a "choose your own adventure" type of deal. There are SO many variables and possibilities based on how you tour, which park you're doing, etc.

Personally, we are morning/rope drop folks (kids were 8 and 3 when we did the program). I planned ours 9am, 10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm. In Epcot, I did put a little more time in between 3 and 4 for lunch. We did our CL FPs first, then regular ones. I specifically did this because the CL FPs can only be modified by DSS, not manually. We're pretty good a sticking to a program for the first part of the day, but then from lunch on we're likely to change things up. So... I wanted those three to be the ones I could manually change. This strategy worked very well for us. For those that want to immediately start booking FP 7, etc - the opposite strategy would be effective (it's what some folks in the last few posts have been discussing).

I can see the value in planning to hop - use 3 somewhere in the AM then back somewhere else in the evening - but our discipline for sticking to afternoon/evening plan is unreliable and I just didn't want to be stuck to a plan. Others are probably more disciplined than us and can make it work.

If anything I said doesn't make sense, please ask - happy to help.

I completely agree with @GADisneyDad14. You need to plan these FPs how it fits best with your touring style. I think we are very similar in that we are rope drop or morning people. We did our CL FPs first then regular one, generally 9, 10, 11, 12, 1 and 2 and even sometimes we almost didn't make it to the last one. Some days we felt we had too many FPs lol!!

We are not hard core all day park goers and often do not go back out at night. If we do, it is if we feel like it and there were several nights we cancelled plans and just hung out at the pool.

I wish we did morning and then evening FPs but we are just too tired lol!

Hope whatever you choose, you have a great trip!!

I'm wondering why Disney chose to implement these purchased FP+ as scheduled ones and not just the extra, instant fastpasses they have had for DVC tours in the past. Those were physical cards that we could scan at the FP+ entrance, 3 passes on each, had to have been used within 3 days of purchase. Perhaps they were concerned about folk reselling them at a premium. But I'll tell you, walking up to a ride and using them on a whim was a heck of a lot easier than having to draw up spreadsheets and all that I'm reading here.

I completely agree! While making the spreadsheet was fun, it should not be required. Anytime FPs would be much easier although there is probably a method to their madness lol!
