Since this restaurant seems to get kless than favorable reviews I thought I'd post a quick review of our positive experience here.
Visited on a Friday night around 7pm and had a 30 minute wait which I thought was great considering the horror stories we have heard.
Our server was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was efficient and prompt. We oredered an appetizer sampler which included a few things like quesadillas, cheese dip, bruschetta and one other item I can't recall. It was served pretty quickly, hot and in a great plate tower presentation. Food was very good. My newphew (11) ordered off the kid's menu and had pasta which he said was really, really good. I had the checken pot pie which was MASSIVE and delicious.
Atmosphere was great. It was loud and crowded (of course) but it was fun and enjoyable. I was thrilled to find out they had an annual passholder and DVC discount which brought our check to a very reasonable $45 or so.

I'd eat there again for sure!

What is the DVC discount?
We have the safari card for there that gives a free select appetizer or 10% off entrees, but was wondering what the DVC discount is because we have it too and it might be better? (and i haven't checked the latest DVC pocket discount guide booklet yet)

We ate here last year and LOVED IT! Yes, it was loud but so much fun. We have a 4 year old and a 1 year old at the time and it took a few minutes for them to warm up to the atmosphere, but once they did, they enjoyed it! One word of advice, don't get the kids drinks in the dinosaur bone. It is literally a 2 foot piece of plastic that is a hassle to get back home and will NEVER be used again!

Glad to hear this. I was getting scared off by all the negative reviews. I don't mind noisy (it's WDW). But I don't like paying for bad food.

I didn't know they have chicken pot pies. Was that some kind of special?

The food was pretty good when we ate there too although the service really wasn't. But I guess, like any other place, there are on days and off days. At least there's a lot to look at

Glad you liked it, as a mom of 3 boys T-Rex is a must do for us. We have our next ADR scheduled for 11/30 B-Day lunch and my boys ask every day how many more days until the Dinosaur Restaurant.

We thought the food was good and plentiful, the atmosphere unique and fun the service was good as well.

I had the appetizer tower as my meal, DH had the philly steak sandwich, the boys had burgers and my sis had chicken salad-we were all very happy with the T-Rex experience.

We enjoyed Trex as well. We were there for lunch in June '09; had an adr, thankfully - it was packed!

Service was decent considering the crowd and food was very good. We have another lunch adr for January.
