I know that the TREX restaurant is covered on the regular dining plan. Is that big dessert included? Or would we have to pay OOP? We are 3 adults on the DDP.

Thanks

It takes 4 credits. We were just there in December and that was the case at least.

How many people were in your party and using the DDP? I ask because some folks have been told that everyone at the table had to order it, so the number of credits it took depending on the number of guests on the DDP at the table.

We had 4 at the table, so I can't speak to that point. But 4 would make sense as the dessert is 4 brownies(or chocolate cake) and 4 scoops of ice cream.

We had 3A and 2C and also got the big dessert, but that was all - no individuals for anyone, including kids.

I guess I am not understanding something here about this ice cream and credits....
It takes 1 credit to eat dinner there then it will take 1 credit to have this ice cream?
or does it mean
under the deluxe dining plan you get app main course plus dessert. if there is 5 of us 4 adults and 1 child. The 4 adults combine there desserts to this monster dessert?
thanks.....

now I have another question with deluxe dining you are allowed an app each. what if you got the app that fed 4 is it still one app or does it count for everyones app. I guess that would go for the 2 person app. does it use 2 peoples app ot just mine if I ordered say the nachos for 2?

The T-Rex Chocolate Extinction dessert (along with the Rainforest Cafe counterpart) are somewhat anomalous in terms of the dining plan.

For most table services places, the standard dining plan meal includes an entree/main course, dessert, and standard drink. When using the Deluxe Dining plan, an appetizer is also included.

A handful of places have items that say "for 2" or something along those lines on the menu. In that case, it means that two people on the dining plan must both agree to order that item.

I guess the easiest way to think of this is that each diner has one entree/main course entitlement, one dessert entitlement, one standard drink entitlement, and (if on the Deluxe Dining plan) one appetizer entitlements. The entitlements can be combined to order the larger items.

For example, let's say there are three of you going to Via Napoli (person A, B, and C). You are all on the Deluxe Dining Plan. So that means you basically have three appetizer entitlements. If you wanted to order the Fritto Misto platter, it takes two appetizer entitlements, which would leave one appetizer entitlement available to order something else. So you could order the Fritto Misto platter plus one other appetizer or you could order three individual serving appetizers.

Now, for T-Rex and the Chocolate Extinction (ice cream and brownies), it's not clear how many people have to pool their dessert entitlements to order the item. It's been reported that it required a minimum of 3, 4, or more individuals to order it when using the dining plan. It would be great if T-Rex would have a standard requirement, but it doesn't seem like they do.

I would basically go with the expectation that if you order the Chocolate Extinction, it will be the only dessert your group will be able to order using DDP credits (you can always pay OOP for additional desserts). If you are dining solo or with only one other person, there is a good chance that they will not let you order the Chocolate Extinction.

Perfect thank you for this it helps 100% and is very clear now.
I like how if it is for 2 then you can order it for 2 people......

Thanks for the info. I guess we'll order it & see what we are charged...it looks so cool I know my DD will luv it!

Food wise I would choose Ohana, but atmosphere, your boys would probably like trex. Unless they scare easily, as the 'meteor shower' is very loud and can get dark in some areas of the restaurant. My son had to be taken out the two times it happened while we were there. Ohana's food is so much better though.

Like many before last year we were a table of 4 adults & we ordered one for the table & they allowed that on the dining plan.
