Considering a stay at the Treehouses....several questions!
1 - How fast do they book? Would they already be booked for first week in December 2016 now?
2 - How far are they from the pool area and bus transportation?
3 - Does the pool have a good slide? We have three boys that love to swim!
4 - Is it in walking distance to Disney Springs?
5 - Can you still rent a golf cart there? We stayed many, many years ago (in the old tree houses) and rented a golf cart. We love to stay at the Log Cabins and rent the golf cart, so this would be awesome if available!

Thanks, in advance, for any help! For some reason, I'm having a hard time finding out information about them!

1 - I'm not sure on this but my family has always managed to get lucky when we book them as little as 2 months out. We've never tried getting one in December, though!
2 - I'll get back to this question in the end.
3 - The main pool at the Carriage House and the paddock pool have slides. They're pretty good slides! None of the other pools do. The treehouse pool does not have a slide, if my memory serves me correctly. It's just a basic pool, I think. The next closest pool would be the Grandstand pool which has water sprayers and a splash area for kids.
4 - No. Sorry for the huge image down below, but this will give you an idea of how removed the treehouse villas are. You walk to Disney Springs from Congress Park. You can, however, take a parks bus and get off at Congress Park and walk. Or, there's the option of catching the boat to Downtown Disney from the dock in the treehouse section, if it's still there.

5 - I don't believe the option to rent a golf cart was here last time we stayed, but I know it's still available at Fort Wilderness so maybe they're able to work something out.

Okay, back to #2. Here's an internal map of the treehouse villas. The image is HUGE, sorry. As you can see, there's only two bus stops here, and they drop you off at Grandstand section (last I remember staying there, it was this way) to catch a bus anywhere else. There is also only one pool for the treehouse section. I love SSR and the treehouse villas, but if you are entirely dependent upon Disney transport, I would suggest staying in SSR proper in a 2 bedroom. Staying in the treehouse villas, you have to catch an internal treehouse section bus that takes you to another section in SSR, where you then get off and have to wait for the bus to the parks/Disney Springs.

WOW!!! I'm so impressed with your very thorough answer!!! And I'm SOOOOO appreciative! It sounds like they are really awesome to stay in, but the transportation is what is the issue. Fort Wilderness is one of our favorites because we always splurge for the golf cart and that makes getting around easy peasie! I'm not ruling it out, just putting my thinking cap on! THANK YOU so much for your very helpful and thought out reply!!! Happy New Year :-)
