Treehouse Villas?

Hi,
On my recent trip 2 weeks ago, we drove by the treehouse villas, and it looked like there were lights on in the buildings. Also, it looked like there was a guard in the guardhouse. Are they using them for a certain reason?

On our boat ride last year to DTD the Captain mentioned that Disney rents the Tree Houses to CMs now. On the return trip you could see people fixing dinner and watching tv so it's definately occupied.

Yeah, we heard from our boat captain that they're being used by the international CMs (such as those working in World Showcase) who come for a year.

I was so disappointed when they went out of circulation for the general public because I had always wanted to stay there and now I can't! We were also told that they aren't used for guests anymore due to not being handicap accessible, and that they would not be able to modify them due to their location and no longer meeting current code or being able to secure the proper permits...something like that.

Oh well at least someone is still enjoying them!

sort of. the issue is that it's protected land. which means they can't demolish and/or construct new buildings. they CAN repair the buildings, but if they do, they have to be made to be ADA compliant which isn't considered cost effective.

so as mentioned, they are being used by the international college program.

so that is who in there. We saw people in there in 05 and didn't know who they were.

Thanks for the replies. Too bad they don't use them anymore, they look like they would be fun to stay in.
