Treehouse ressies for June 30-July 9?

We're new to DVC and looking for advice.

Do you think we'll have trouble booking a Treehouse Villa for June 30-July 9, 2011?

Also, when is the first day I could call for this - is it July 30th with a call back to get the last two nights?

Do you own SSR? I think it will be the 29th that you can call and I don't think it will be horrible to get the reservation. If you call when the 11 month opens up you should be ok. Good luck.

If you own at SSR, then you would call at 9 am 11 months to the day. So, it would be on July 30th at 9 am. Then call back the next two days and add the other days one at a time.

You do not need to call back daily to add the last two nights. As long as you call before August 5th you will be guaranteed the 2 night extension, as your reserved unit cannot go back into bookable inventory for anyone else until 11 months from your check-out date.

When I have booked longer vacations for prime times the castmembers always advised me to call back the immediate next days and add on to my reservation. The concern being that if someone calls before me on the 11 month day before my checkout they could get the room to start their vacation and I would be out of luck. I would advise anyone to go ahead and call back the subsequent days, get your reservation, and that way you don't have to worry about it.

I've read about "walking" the reservation (not trying to generate a lot of debate here), but didn't want to do that unless I had to. I'm just concerned because of the 4th of July and the Treehouse inventory.

We do own at SSR, and I plan to call the earliest time possible. I guess the worst case scenario is that we'll wind up in a 2BD - I suppose that's not too bad of a problem!

Say there are 10 rooms, and all 10 are reserved for July 10 to 15, there is no way a new reservation for a fresh caller can start until August 15 for a July 15th arrival, is there? Because those rooms are not in inventory, they are already reserved...just as you'd have your single room reserved until your end date, so no one could call and reserve it until your check-out date. It is the way the system HAS to work, or else there would be a ton of overbookings/double bookings. But this only works for a reservation made right at the 11 month window.
