Thursday 7th April

Everyone was up early today as it was early magic hour at Magic Kingdom. The plan was to only do a few hours at Magic Kingdom this morning as we had the Mama Melrose fantasmic package booked for this afternoon at the Disney Hollywood Studios.

We never made it to rope drop though but we are just after opening time. Mark and Maurice ran off to get fast passes for space mountain while the rest of us were to get as many rides in as possible in fantasyland. Our first stop was Winnie the Pooh. This was probably a mistake! The nice new queue area was only about 10 minutes but as soon as we got on the pooh vehicle the ride broke down. It seemed like forever when a maintenance guy came over and kept looking at our vehicle bending down and scratching his head. Were we too heavy? Had I drunk too many cocktails? We felt like we were waiting ages when eventually it just started. The ride was fun but we had wasted valuable time!! Mark and Maurice appeared saying the fastpasses were for a time which was too late for us so we all seemed to have not got a lot done in our first hour.

We all went into Mickey's Philamagic and all enjoyed this wonderful show, so made up for our slow start. Mark and Maurice once again ran off to get us fastpasses, this time for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while the rest of us went to Haunted Mansion. The new queuing area is great and Kirsty managed to get a shot with Leota's eyes open

The ride is even better than ever and the ending was just brilliant.

Mark and Maurice meet up with us and we have a wait before our fastpasses are ready so we go on Pirates which is wonderful as ever. We still have plenty of time so do the Jungle Cruise which was very busy as usual.

We are still a bit early so have time to pose for a photo in the photo spot in front of Splash Mountain

Finally our fastpasses for BTMR are ready and we all enjoy this ride. We make our way out of the park via Aloha Isle and enjoy a delicious Dole Whip.

We spend a very enjoyable couple of hours sitting in the sun on the Treehouse terrace having some more cocktails. I go on facebook to ask where I can meet Lotso (it takes me ages to get the Ipad spelling to work or it could be the vast amount I had had to drink). I am very grateful to Mandymouse as she came back to me almost immediately telling us where to look as we would not have had a clue at all.

It is a record high for April today at WDW with temperatures in the mid-90s. As we have all had a drink and could not be bothered with the buses or boat today we order a cab which comes right on time. The first thing we do is head over to the animation building to get a photo of Lotso but he is just finishing up as he has to be in the parade. Sadly we can only manage this faraway shot with some other children in it!!!

We decide that before our meal it would be nice to have a cool drink in a place I have never been but was mentioned on the Bad Mother's Trip Report amongst others, the Tune In Bar. However this was not an easy place to get to while a parade is taking place. In the end we gave up and watched the parade in the baking hot heat.

Once the parade is over we rush off for our drinks and make it to the wonderfully cool tune in bar. We are not disappointed it is great in here.

Me and Lisa have bahama mamas at the bar

Mark and Maurice have margarittas yet again

DisneyWorld2011162.jpg

This place is definately a find as it is soo busy outside but lovely and quiet inside

We have a few drinks and all too soon it is time for our Mama Melrose reservation. As usual there is a bit of a wait and Kirsty takes the usual photo

DisneyWorld2011164.jpg

We eventually get seated and we have the package set menu. This is a fixed price for all three courses including soft drinks. Not that the adults are having any of those as me and Lisa have delicious peach Belinis and Mark and Maurice have beers

DisneyWorld2011166.jpg

We order nearly all the starters and mix and match I love the calamari. Steak is included in the fixed price menu

DisneyWorld2011167.jpg

The afters are lovely and I again have the amaretto cheese cake. Megan has a huge cup cake included in the kids menu

DisneyWorld2011168.jpg

Maurice's chocolate thingy looks lovely too

DisneyWorld2011169.jpg

By now we are full and waddle our way round the back drop part of the studios

DisneyWorld2011170.jpg

There is a great astmosphere here and a band are playing making it a most enjoyable afternoon.

DisneyWorld2011171.jpg

I love the attention to detail in this part of the park and can't resist a quick pose by the fake shops

DisneyWorld2011172.jpg

We go in a real shop and try on the Duffy Bear ears.

DisneyWorld2011173.jpg

The queues are too long for any of the big rides and as we are still early for the fantasmic show and as it is still so hot we decide that another drink at the tune in bar would be a good idea

DisneyWorld2011174.jpg

We do a quick shop and I buy the 2011 disneyworld photo album as I have to have one of these each time we come with the correct year on it.

We head over to fantasmic and it is by now getting dark. The show is brilliant as ever and well worth the wait. It has been a long day and we don't hesitate to get a cab back. The kids still have energy to go swimming and it is still so hot so they go off in the dark. The rest of us have some more drinks back at the treehouse. It has been a while so I go off to find the kids and I find them walking back. I mention to Kirsty that we should have agreed a time for them to come back when she realises that she has left her Minnie Mouse watch on her towel and cannot remember which towells she had put back in the towell return booth. I walk back with her and we are both releived to find her watch sitting there waiting for us.

What a good way to end our tiring day.

Great day, so glad Kirsty got her watch! Would you recommend the fantasmic package?

Still enjoying your report Susan. Glad you enjoyed the Tune-In Lounge! It's one of our favourite places to hang out in WDW. ::yes::

Another great day Sue, loving all your photos and the look of those lovely cocktails (especially that Bellini) ::yes::

Another great day. I am looking forward to trying the Tune In for the first time in a few weeks. ;)

Great day, so glad Kirsty got her watch! Would you recommend the fantasmic package?

We have done it about 4 times and it guarantees you a seat. It was standing room only by the time we got to the stage. I would definately do it again.

Another Fab Day Sue. Shame about missing lotso but im sure someone thats clever with a photo editor could lose the random children out of the shot.
