Very sad today :sad1: as we are going home but already looking forward to coming back in March/April next year. :goodvibes

Up early to have another ride on the wonderful Forbidden Journey. This time there is no stopping and go straight to the main ride. Unfortunately the ride has broken down and we end up waiting 45 minutes but once again worth the wait as the ride is truly amazing. This time it was snowing in the queing area inside the castle.

We all enjoyed the ride and came out to look at all the shops. Kirsty bought a wand for $30 at a stall which had no queue. (unfortunately the wand has since been broken by one of Kirsty's friends) (also it did not seem to do any magic spells and did not work when Kirsyt tried to use it to clean up her bedroom and neither did the two broken bits make another two wands like in fantasia).

Mark, Des and Kirsty went on the old duelling dragons while me and Vicky looked in the shops.

Now I can honestly say that I really did not realise that we were walking in the exit and doing anything wrong, but when we came out the front door and saw the massive queue to get in I realised why we had some funny looks when we went into the shop. We were trully sorry and would not do it again. :guilty:

The shops are nice but really don't seem to be worth waiting for ages to get in each one.

Vicky had a butter beer and I had a pumkin juice in a nice bottle which we bought back with us

The land was getting too busy and too hot so we decide to leave and for us to check out.

Before we go though we go on another ride for the first time. Dr Suess trolley ride and I love it. What a great way to see this part of the park.

Back to the hotel and checked out. We have enough time to go with Vicky and Des to the mall for Des to buy his cowboy stuff.

The cowboy shop is at Bay Festival and this is our first time here. Des gets his cowboy boots and we look around the shops. I buy a black jacket for $5 in case it is cold back in the UK as I only have a thin cardi. It is very depressing here as so many of the shops have either shut down or are shutting down. It appears this is a mall aimed at Brits and I guess with the poor exchange rate there has been less shoppers.

We decide to have lunch at Dennys (for a third time this trip). I have the pulled chicken sandwich again as it is lovely.

We drop Vicky and Des near to the hotel and say our goodbyes and head back to Orlando airport and give back the car. Always the worse part of the trip.

When we try to check in we are told that the three of us cannot sit together. I find this quite hard to believe as there are so many seats of three on these planes and they are flying two planes a day and still not school holidays and we are very early (so early I first asked for availability on the first plane back to Gatwick). So I asked him to look again and lo and behold he finds three seats together. The strange thing is that when we eventually get to fly there are again 100 seats empty and we actually get the row in front of us to ourselves as well as our row. I am not impressed with the check in staff at virgin in the Orlando and reminds me of Joh and Nat's problems last year.

The plane is delayed and then delayed some more. We eventually take off. We are so late it has caused a problem for many passengers waiting for their Ireland connection in Gatwick. It does not help that we have parked in the wrong place and have to wait a further 30 minutes on the plane for the plane to be towed!!!

We get home very jet lagged but so looking forward to going back on a new treehouse adventure next year with our friends and their two children and back to Royal Pacific hotel again. We also get an extra night :yay::cheer2:

Aww, it's always the worst part of the holiday, and once I'm back at the airport, I always wish we could be automatically transported back home :(

It's great that you've got your next trips planned, and I can't wait to read all about them

Thanks for sharing your trip reports Sue, they've been fun to read ::yes::

yes Mandy thats exactly how I feel at the airport on the way home. I now make a point of really appreciating the day we land and always look at the people in the security queue and think that is a long way away - the whole holiday is ahead. There is nothing quite like THAT feeling

awww its over.
still got a few days to catch up on though.
shame the airports always seem to make the journey home difficult.

mandy ive always wanted that ability to transport myself anywhere. ;)

Oh what a shame your TR has come to an end Susan:sad1:

Really enjoyed reading it, and look forward to next year:thumbsup2

Susan: stumbled across your trip report and really enjoyed it. Some friends and I are doing the same thing in November--7 nights in a Treehouse and then three nights at Universal (haven't booked the Universal part yet).

One question however--a couple of times you posted you watched a movie on the arcos? What is an arcos? Is that a t.v. or a DVD or ?

thanks for the great report! can't wait to chill out on the deck of OUR treehouse!

Awww its horrible on the last day !
It must be about time for you to start a pree trippie though Sue :-)

Cheryl, an Arcos is a kind of note pad you can record films on and access the internet and much lighter than taking a laptop with us. We got one off ebay a few weeks before we went away and it had loads of films on it already, so we just took it away with us as the DVC tv is very limited.

Loiuse, yes I can feel a pre-trip report coming on!!

shame your holiday has come to an end, but at least you,ve got another one to look forward too, thanks for sharing:goodvibes

Great report Sue, Ive really enjoyed reading it, thank you for sharing:goodvibes

You've had another fun trip and produced another fun to read report, Susan. Thanks for sharing. I read your entire series in one go this morning after almost letting it all slip by me. (Debbie and Matt were here when you first started posting and we were so busy out on Route 66 I'm afraid there was no time for DISing.) Luckily I spotted these last couple of installments on the current page that lead me to the archived segments. What a wonderful trip, first with your family and then with your friends. It must have softened the Post Disney Blues considerably knowing you'll be going back in just a few months. I trust you'll tell us about that trip, too.

Best wishes, The Other Susan
