The Cast
Me - Susan - age 46 - loves disney, holidays, crocs and a nice drink
DH - Mark - age 42 - loves his car
DD - Kirsty - age 16
Vicky and Des - our friends joining us for the second week
Mark and Kirsty pick me up from work at midday as we are off to Gatwick to spend the night at the Hilton. We arrive at Gatwick mid afternoon and go and do twilight checkin with Virgin. All goes smoothly.
We go back to the hotel room for a nap/watch tv and Kirsty finds DVC and Disney Cruise Line tickets/brochures along with maps of all the cruise destinations in one of the drawers. It appears the previous occupants had been Canadians returning from the Disney Cruise which goes to the eastern European countries. There is also DVC information which shows they used their DVC points for the cruise. Very coincidental as we are using our DVC points for this holiday, Strange.
We go for dinner to the Garden Buffet in the Hilton as we had ordered the special package instead of going to Frankie and Bennys (our usual Gatwick eatery). We were not keen on the buffet and would not have it again.
After some drinks we go to bed.
We wake up refreshed and take our time to go back over to the airport. We have breakfast in the Wetherspoon. The flight is on time and we settle down to watch some movies. I watch How to Train a dragon four times (I could not find the map). Me and Mark have sweet and sour chicken and Kirsty has bangers and mash, which were all okay.
We buy two litre bottles of blue vodka for £20 on the plane (which last me the holiday)
We arrive ahead of schedule and get through immigration and car hire very smothly and are soon checking in to our wonderful treehouse
There is a picture of the treehouses on Kirsty's duvet soooo sweet.
We unpack and have to now do our first night ritual and take a trip to Raglan Road. Our treehouse is very near to the boat dock and we don't wait long for a boat to take us to Downtown Disney. The first thing we need to do is go to guest relations to pick up our annual passes (with $100 DVC discount each) and our Tables in Wonderland card)
We take Kirsty to get her long awaited Goofy frozen drink but they don't have the apple flavour she had three years ago and goes with the grape one which is nearly just as nice.
Finally we get to Raglan Road for a our first drink of the holiday. I am not that adventurous yet and stick with my old faithful vodka and diet cokes
We are not that hungry so order a flat mate and some chips
By now we are really tired and get the boat back to the Treehouse and fall asleep dreaming of the two weeks ahead of us
