Boy, I just am NOT in the mood this year! To much school work and work with to little sleep and depression....I do NOT want to look at this tree anymore! I will leave up my outside stuff till new years...but I just took all the ornaments off and the ribbons, I just need the energy to take apart!

I always leave it up till New Years! Not this year! anyone else?:rolleyes1

OMG I am the opposite. The tree helps my mood. Dog wet in the corner of the livingroom. Tried many products. Carpet cleaning company is finally coming at 10 am. We scooched the tree into the hallway (broke a good ornament in the process) so we can scooch it back into place day after tomorrow. I can't bear to let my happy place tree go for the year.

Sending peaceful thoughts your way. :goodvibes

I would join you, but my wife insists on keeping it up until New Years. We had a fantastic Christmas season, I loved every part of it, but to be honest I'm ready to get back to normal.
But, since my wife likes it, I'll just pretend it isn't there, and try to be normal even with the tree still up.

One of my Facebook friends (a mom from my son's school) just posted that she's done with her tree, too. She said it fell over once already and she took that as a sign to toss it to the curb.

We won't take ours down until New Year's Day. That's our tradition.

I'll be lucky if I get my tree down before February. It's such a pain in the butt to take off all the ornaments, pack them up, take off the lights, pack them up, take each and every branch off and bend them all flat again. I put it off as long as I can. My tree bag is shredded and needs to be thrown out this year. I think I'm going to use plastic storage boxes instead. So now I have the excuse that I can't take the tree down until I get the boxes. ;)

Our tree will stay up until the 6th. 12 days of Christmas!

It hasn't been a happy holiday season, but looking at the tree and the lights helps my mood also.

I'm dreading taking it down. I'm afraid I'll be more depressed then :guilty:

ours came down yesterday...I usually leave it up until New Years, but it was really dried out and turning brownish. Time to go!

I only have a little 4 foot tree so it isnt much of a pain. Last year I took it down on the Sunday after Christmas. This year, though, I only just got it up and decorated by Christmas eve so i think I'll leave it up a little while longer.:goodvibes

its funny to each his own I guess but I like my tree. I love the Holidays even though my family drives me insane every year its more a spiritual thing for me at least I like listening to classic Christmas music and looking at my tree. Mine stays up until January 6th the very least sometimes a little longer.

But dont feel bad that you wanted to take yours down. If for whatever reason it was somehow upsetting you, so be it its your house its your tree. Play some upbeat music get a hot cup or cold cup of tea and take your time putting it away so when you have to put it up next year everything will be organized and easy to get to. and Have a wonderful New years =)

oh, did I say I put it up the week BEFORE thanksgiving? lol and I am having our work christmas party over at my house and need to put up another tree on january 17th! so maybe that is why, I have NEVER taken it down before New Years..it is always been tradition to do so, I also want to clean my place and change furniture around...tree is in the way...I need to get ready for the next semester.

I'll take ours down on Friday. We usually keep it up until Epiphany, but this year I'm ready to get a jump on the "New Year".

I had the kids (aged 14 and 11) take the tree down and put it outside while I was at the hospital with their grandmother on Saturday. I was severely allergic to this tree. I'm still coughing and sneezing even though it's been out for a day and a half. I've never reacted this way before.

Mine never went up, so problem solved!!
Not that I didnt want it up, it was just too much work this year and I was exhausted just *thinking* about it.....Oh well, there's always next year :)

We are taking ours down today. I'm ready for the house to be back to normal. This is pretty typical of what we do anyway. A day or two after Christmas and down it comes.

well, mine IS down as of now...and put in storage, I just put ornaments in bins and bringing those down right after this post!! I guess I need to vacuum now! lol all my porch lights are still up thou, and I have two 7 foot spiral trees on there, so it still looks like I have trees in the apartment!!
my room looks so big now!;)

The majority of my decorations are coming down today. I haven't decided about the tree itself, but I'm thinking it is going too. Sometimes I leave it up and just pull the Christmas stuff off, and keep the snowmen decorations on. I have an entire box of snowmen decorations to add to it if it does stay up.
