Has anyone stayed there? How far to stops and the main pool? Is it located at the entrance of SSR?

There is one pool located at the THV and it appears to not be centered at the resort. THV are located between OKW and SSR. You have to catch a bus to SSR to get a bus to the theme parks and other destinations - or you can take a boat to DTD from the THV. If you drive to SSR, you'll have to park your car and take a bus to THV. But if you are a guest at THV, you will be able to open the security gate with your room ID and park your car (only one parking place per THV) at your villa. That security gate is located just off Disney Vacation Club Way between SSR and OKW.

So Deb & Bill or anyone else who stayed here say there is a 2 part bus system? I have heard a couple different versions and need to make sure to change my ressie. I really want to stay in a Treehouse but can't do 2 buses with a couple of strollers and a wheelchair.

Yep, unless you have a car of your own, you'll be getting on a bus at THV to the Grandstand and transfer to the themepark bus from there.

When I was looking at the map of the THV, it looked like if you stayed on the far end, it wouldn't be too bad of a walk to the Grandstand bus stop - maybe 5 to 10 minutes depending on your pace. A person on one of the other boards had mentioned that when he stayed there for their opening! :goodvibes

I don't mind walking but when you are carrying a coouple sleeping kids it is twice as far I am sure

So guests that have to park at ssr can get a ride on one of those service carts to and from THV? Do guests drop off luggage at ssr, to be delivered to THV? Has the idea of renting out carts (on a daily basis) been entertained? What about rickshaw service between THV and ssr?

If they need to park at the Grandstand, they take the bus over to THV. There is a shuttle bus (not a service cart) to take people to and from the THV.

It's really not a far walk from The Grandstand parking lot to the Treehouse Villa area. I tried to think of a good comparison and I think the best one is at the BoardWalk. The walking distance from The Granstand to the start of the Treehouse area is about the same as the self-park lot at the BoardWalk to its main entrance. It's just a short 3-4 min walk.

Then it becomes a question of how far you have to walk to get to your Treehouse. Worst case (furthest Treehouse) would probably be 5-7 minutes extra.

Just to recap, each Treehouse is allocated one parking space. If you have multiple vehicles they ask that you park others in The Grandstand. There is a shuttle bus running about every 10 minutes which you can board a The Grandstand bus stop to get to the Treehouse Villa area. (The shuttle is just a normal Disney bus with "Treehouse Villas" on the marquee.) Or, you can simply walk from The Grandstand parking lot back to your villa, which is about a 3-10 minute trip depending on which Treehouse you are assigned.

We took a bus ride over there from the Springs on Wed. Hardly waited for a bus. We have a THV booked for Nov. so we wanted to check the area out. Both the bus driver and some of the people on the bus said that being near the south bus station would put you near the pool, boat dock and walking path. I wrote down some room numbers but haven't completely unpacked yet. It looks lovely but secluded. There are a few villas close to the opening
road and I am not sure I would like that.
