We recently returned from a week at the Treehouses at SSR. I am a DVC owner at SSR and have stayed there several times in the past and always wanted to stay at the Treehouses. Since our whole family was coming on vacation, 6 adults and 1 toddler, I thought the Treehouse would work well for us. I will not stay there again and here is why:
We had requested a villa near the Grandstand walkway, but that did not happen. Our villa was half way up the main road in a densely forested area with no view except trees. It took sometimes over a half an hour to get from the Treehouses to the Springs area for the park buses. After a day or two of this most of us walked through the golf course to the Grandstand area bus stop. This was a little over 10 minutes, which does not sound like a lot of time, but believe me that at night that extra walking is not pleasant.
The villa itself was a disappointment too. It was not very clean, we found things under the beds in two rooms and the window sills were dirty with cob webs. The dishwasher was functional but broken, it kept falling off the tracks. The Towel and Trash came at 830AM on the 4th day and since there were people in both bathrooms, she just dumped the fresh stuff on the table and waited while I collected the trash.
There were no extra sheets or blankets for either the pull out couch or the pack and play. We had to call over to the main building at midnight to get these things.
On top of this the Magic Bands did not unlock the doors so when came back from the parks the first night we had to go back to the Main building to have all our Magic Bands reset. It took three days for all the Magic Bands to work.
My advice to anyone who wants to stay here is to bring a car; it is very spread out and far away from everything. Plan on 45 minutes to an hour to get back and forth each way.
I love SSR, but would not advise my friends to stay in the Treehouses.
