We are planning on our first MVMCP this year. We plan to enter the park at 4:00 and using some FPs to ride some rides and then just chilling and watching some of the shows, the parade, and the fireworks. We were hoping we could enjoy the treats as we walked from ride to ride, but then it hit me, these treats probably don't start being served until 7:00. Is that true, or are there any that start early?

Party starts at 7pm.
Treats will start then as well.
Thanks, that's what I figured. I have another question. Can one person pick up a treat for themselves and someone else, or do both people need to be in line? My DH is close to needing a knee replacement, and I'm not sure he will be able to circle the park a second time. Would it be possible for me to run to get the treats for both of us?

ETA: I probably wouldn't pick up the drinks except for maybe the Nesquick which comes closed. Maybe just one hot chocolate. So what I get would be pretty easy to transport in my bag.

Each person must walk up to the counter to pick up their treats because the CM needs to see a party wristband in order to hand you the treats.
The lines a very fast moving. Its not like when you go wait in line to order a meal.
Also there are several treat locations (If I recall correctly from the last time I went the treats can vary by the location but they will be labeled on the party map) so unless you want a specific treat that happens to be on the opposite side of the park or you want multiple types of treats you won't have to circle the park.
You can go at a leisurely pace or rent a wheelchair.
I recall when my mom needed a knee replacement it was at the end of each night after full days in the park that we had to basically walk for a minute and then stop for a minute.

Thanks for information. This party will be our last night there, so I'm sure he will be much slower at that point. I was hoping that once A Frozen Holiday Wish started at 8:15 that we could just lay low, people watch, and enjoy the atmosphere and the entertainment for the rest of the night. I'm hoping from 4-7 to do some FPs that would allow us to start at 7DMT and circle to Jingle Cruise. That only gives us from 7-around 8 to do treats and get a spot for the entertainment. I really want to do all the treats! They all sound so good. Would an hour be enough time to walk back around to get the treats? I'm sure he will be able to walk it in that amount of time, but not sure how long it will take for the lines.

Again the lines are really fast.
I don't bother to walk to all the treat locations.
I get a couple and then do whatever.
I have no idea how long its gonna take you.

We found the lines to move really fast because there's no need for payment to be made - just a quick check that you have a wristband. If you know which treats you want, try to schedule yourself to be close to those at 7 pm-ish.

If I recall correctly, last year you could get most of the treats at Pinocchio’s instead of walking from location to location.

You know the good treats you have to buy and you can buy several so he can sit .... I never had to show a band to buy them but I usually don't until the party has been pretty purged of non-ticket holders.

I never attended the party that had the varied treats, only these for free. Just not worth it so I bought the nicer ones. I guess we won't know until party time what they do this year. It was nice that they varied the treats the last couple years, while most were still store bought cookies, the pretzel and different drinks looked good.

But this is all I ever got ....

That would be awesome! Hopefully, they will do that again.

ETA: I just found a picture online of the treats offered at Pinocchio's. There were four of the cookies offered in that one location. Sweet! It looks like the only ones we will have to hit are the ones that have the pretzel and the Dove chocolate, of course IF that is what they are offering again this year. I so wish they would release all the Christmas info soon!

Just to clarify, I am talking about the free treats, not the ones to buy. I'm sure I can buy as many as I want. Just wondering about getting the free ones.

I looked back at last year.

September 14th they blogged what to expect and in that it said just " snack on complimentary hot cocoa and cookies".

November 8th they blogged a Party Food Guide and all they talked about were the food you can purchase.

We'll likely have to wait until the first party and bloggers to find out what the freebies are.

We made friends at MVMCP waiting in line to meet Scrooge McDuck - there was 7 of us total. Two of us went to get the treats in storybook circus because we saw it opened, it was for chocolate milk and peppermint cookies I believe. The line looked long but it went SO quick and when we got up there we asked if we could take enough for our party of 7 and they told us to take as much as we like! So maybe it depends on the cast member and the time (this was between 6 and 7pm).

When we went in December last year, the cast members were more than happy to give us more than one serving - in fact, I would say it was even encouraged in some areas. I agree with the above poster - the Storybook Circus cast members were especially generous! We love Nestle Quik, so we were more than happy to take a bunch of those to go! The pretzel in the Adventureland was the best, though! I did like that one place gave out wrapped Dove chocolates so we didn't have to eat them right there and then. We saved them for another day. I highly recommend bringing a Ziploc bag or two in case you don't want to eat all of the cookies immediately. Some of the cookies were mediocre, but some were pretty delish! It's hit or miss. If it's a hit, get more!

At what point do they start selling the special desserts? Do you have to wait until 7?

From the last two years review on Disney Food Blog it says they have some they sell all day long, then some that are sold only at the party.

It may depend on the treat, but when we were there last year, we were waiting in line at the Plaza Ice Cream shop and I asked if I could get the peppermint ice cream. They told me they would bring it out exactly at 4 pm. We happened to be there at about 3:58 pm, so we simply waited two minutes and I got the ice cream!

I noticed the OP mentioned entering the park at 4 p.m. and using fast passes for rides until 7 p.m. Do they allow you to do fast passes based on your MVMCP ticket or do you have to also have a regular ticket for fast passes during that time period?

No one knows yet if FPs can be booked using the linked Party entitlement. Last year, some could book FPs and some couldn’t.

The park closes for regular guests at 6:00p so no FPs for anyone after 6:00.

There is an official MVMCP thread that has all the info within the first few posts.
