Treasure Island FL, hotels

Flying into Tampa in two weeks for business, one night only. We have a meetig in St. Pete, downtown.

Looking at some beachfront hotels in Treasure Island area. Anyone familiar with that area? The one hotel that I am leaning towards is The Bilmar Beach Resort. It gets really good reviews on Trip Advisor. It's only 3 miles from our meeting.

I am travelling with my boss' son and want to make sure it's nice, but it can't be too expensive.

The Bilmar is nice, it makes you feel like you're in a beach movie. Treasure Island is very retro with their hotels/resorts. Where is your mtg being held at? Look at St. Pete Beach for a few resorts too...try the PostCard Inn, very cool or try the Sirata ... very nice too...both on SPB if not, and you want TI then I'd stay with the Bilmar...
