Treasure Hunters??

heck I got stuck way back on the cannon - never have figured that one out :confused3

For the cannon at West Point you had to find the gear to run out the giant chain over the river so that the ships got stuck and had to turn around, then you can go to the cannon and shoot at them where they get stopped while they are turning and move slower...

This is the same spot that I am stuck in. I found the lever, but where do you find the gear? I am completely clueless. :goodvibes

Can you imagine if Katie had to climb the mountain? I'm so glad we didn't have to watch that.

I had the exact same thought :teeth:

However, I was so glad to see Sam conquer his fears and make it up. I assumed they would take the drive like the Miss USA team.

Yes, I hated to see them go too; they had class.

I don't like the way the contestants get to just skip over steps in this show. It didn't seem fair that 3 of the teams got to completely skip the Eiffel Tower. Miss USA was way ahead of all of them and then lost because they didn't get to copy off the team that figured out the map thing.

At least they made the 3 teams wait until they arrived at the Eiffel tower before telling them they had what they needed. It would have been worse if they received the call on the metro. Well, okay since the cars were at the statue, it really wouldn't have made that much difference.

I agree. I liked those girls about 3 bazillion times better than I liked the actual Miss USA when she was on Project Runway picking out a dress.

Man, that Air Force team was just so far ahead of everybody else. They were smokin'!

Well, I say good for the guys for figuring out the map without needing the clue. They still had to go to the tower and then find the Statue in order to get their cars, so they didn't really get to skip anything, they just figured out the map out of sequence. Good for them for thinking outside the box. After wasting two hours+ at the castle, they needed something to help them out!

The fountain. You drain the fountain and there is something inside it... :thumbsup2

I agree! Unlike AR the teams don't really need to complete tasks at certain checkpoints, instead they're basically being sent to locations to figure a puzzle out. The Southie boys finally followed their instincts instead of worrying that they might be wrong, again I say Good for them!! :thumbsup2 I was sad to see Team USA go :(

But just the thought of Katie Fogal trying to climb that mountain..... :rotfl:

As others have said, I was sad to see Miss USA go too...they were very likeable and never wanted to give up. How in the world did the Geniuses figure out which room in the chalet to go to so quickly? :confused3

It looks as though some fighting might be in store for next week based on the previews. I'm sorry to see the show wrap up. :sad2:

Anyone else at an impass on this weeks challenge? We're past the church and graveyard and are in the next location, but there is nothing to click on and the only option is "go back to church" and we can't find anything else there... we've clicked on every freakin' pixel in their stupid screens and nothing else is a link!?!?!?!?!? :confused3 :furious: :badpc:

Trust me -- check out the boards (on the NBC website)...somebody has posted step-by-step directions...which were invaluable... there were some parts that just kicked my rear.

Good luck!
Ginny

I like Air Force and think they should win. However, I think strategically, the geniuses made a big mistake last week by not helping the Fogals with the church clue, thus eliminating Air Force. For Geniuses, they aren't that smart! The Fogals would have come in last this week! There is no way they could have done the rock climbing and they would have gotten lost driving like Miss USA. I'm hoping the Geniuses go home next. I don't really have a strong favorite to win. I like Southies, Ex-CIAs and Air Force. I might have to root for the Southies since they are the underdogs.
Anyone else think they try to cram too much into one episode. They last task seemed like walk up to a box, insert key and find your thingie. I never did understand how to solve the clue. They never showed the rose or the cross at the castle - at least to where it made sense on solving the clue.

I know that I was having major trouble getting onto the NBC boards for the past two nights. So, I am sure any help you could give Golf4food would be appreciated.

Sorry -- I didn't realize folks were having trouble getting on those boards. Here goes...

posted by tikisteve:
1. You find yourself in front of a church in the town of Sleepy Hollow. Click on the iron fence to the right of the church to enter the graveyard.
2. Click around on the tombstones until you find the tombstone of Washington Irving, author of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow."
3. Click on the right hand ledge at the bottom of Irving's tombstone to find a key. Place it in your backback.
4. Click the "Go Back" button to return to the graveyard.
5. Click "Go Back" again to return to the initial view of the church.
6. Click on your backpack to open it, and click on the key.
7. When the key appears on the screen, click on the key and the church door will open. Click on the church door to enter.
8. On a ledge just above the "Leave Church" button is a box of matches. Click on the matches and place them in your backpack.
9. Click on the Candelabra, bringing the candles into closeup.
10. Begin by clicking on any candle NEXT TO a corner. Then continue around the perimeter (outside) of the candles, either clockwise or counterclockwise, skipping two candles each time and clicking the third. If it takes you more than four clicks to light all the candles, you're doing something wrong.

Example:

X 1 X X
X X X 2
4 X X X
X X 3 X

11. When all 16 candles are lighted, you will hear a gate creaking. It is the gate to the Rockefeller crypt in the graveyard.
12. Click the "Leave Church" button to go outside, then click on the iron fence to re-enter the graveyard. Click the door of the Rockefeller crypt to enter.
13. You now find yourself an "action figure" avatar in an underground maze, or crypt, with a cell phone message telling you how to move around in the maze. Follow these instructions to move your avatar (after clicking on the cell phone to close it).
14. At the right end of the first passageway you will find a globe. Navigate the globe to the coordinates from the Genworth book in the puzzle room (37N 77W) to obtain your second insurance policy. Place it in your backpack.
15. I am NOT going to give step by step instructions through the crypt maze, but toward the bottom right you will find a lever mechanism. It is very important that you follow the crypt instructions in order.
16. Click on the handle of the lever to pull it. You will hear another door creak open.
17. Click on the chain wrapped around the spool (shaft?) of the lever. Click on the chain to put it in your backpack.

NOTE: Some gamers have had the chain disappear, rather than end up in their backpack. If this happens to you (apparently a problem with the flash programming), restart the game.

18. Work your way back up the way you came, and head toward the left hand side of the crypt. You'll know you're on the right path when you come to a gap that is too large to jump.
19. In order to jump the large gap, back up as far as you can. Hold down the shift key, while you hit the arrow key to run. As you approach the gap, hit the space bar to jump while running (don't release the shift & arrow keys).

NOTE: The large gap can be very difficult to jump. Some gamers have failed dozens of times before making it (kind of like snagging the keys in the jail was for some of us). Some gamers have even reported enlisting their children to complete this portion of the challenge for them.

20. After you jump the large gap, work your way down until you see two open doorways. The upper of the two is the door to which you opened the gate with the lever. The doorway below it is actually the doorway through which you entered the crypt, and you will not need to go through it again.

21. Enter the upper of the two doorways. You will see a pile of wooden crates. On the floor will be a book. Click on the book and put it in your backpack.

22. Click the "Go Back" button and climb back up through the crypt, and return to the globe. Remove the book from your backpack, and navigate the globe to the coordinates you find in the book.

23. The globe will dissolve, and a truck will drive you to Oil Creek in Titusville, PA. After Laird's speech, click on the cell phone.

24. You will see a truck parked in front of a flatbed rail car carrying barrels of oil. Both are in front of a shed, or cabin.

25. Open your backpack and click on the chain you found in the crypt. When the chain appears on screen, click on it again.

26. The chain should then hitch itself to the back of the truck and haul the flatbed rail car forward, revealing the door to the shed.

NOTE: This has also sometimes been a hitch in the game. Some gamers (again, me included) have had the chain fail to respond, and had to restart the challenge from the very beginning.

27. Click on the door of the shed to open it, then click on the opened door to enter the shed.

28. Click on the drawer of the desk against the far wall. The drawer will slide open, and reveal the artifact.

29. The cell phone will appear and Laird will congratulate you. Remember to click on the cell phone to close it, then click on the artifact and place it in your backpack.

30. Return to the game room, place your puzzle piece appropriatelly, and submit your guess of the week for the treasure location.

Hope this helps.... let me know if you need more info.

Ginny

Am I the only one who doesn't like how the Genworth Financial people tell you how to solve the clue before you get a chance to figure it out?? I just noticed it watching last week's taped episode. They always show a clip telling you how to figure it out right before a comercial.

PS- GO AIR FORCE :cheer2:

Ok, so when you get everything put together and get to the secret room behind the fireplace and cut out your fancy 5 pointed star... what is the code? Maybe our star just sucks, but there don't seem to be five images lining up... :confused3

Where do you tell the helicopter to go???? I feel so lost.

Long story short - Mexico City, former capital of the Aztec empire.
