I am going to buy a treadmill. I really don't want to spend a lot of $$$ on one (afraid it will become a clothes hanger...) but want one that will not fall apart.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good inexpensive one?
Thanks.

We have a Pro-Life treadmill that I bought secondhand for $75. Its a top of the line treadmill that would have cost me hundreds of dollars if I bought it new. I suggest looking in your paper's classified ad section before purchasing one new.

Ours has all the bells and whistles, I really don't use any of those features though (calorie burning counter, etc.), although I do use the incline feature pretty often. Mine is 7 years old, though, so its probably not even worth it for me to check the model number for you. Do your research online, find one you like, and then look for it used. Lots and lots of people use their treadmill as a clothes hanger, you'll find that out when you look in the classified ads. :)

THanks Snoopy.
I did check our little burg's paper. nothing there today. Maybe tomorrow.

I have a Pro-Life too. I do use the fat cal. and calories burned features, the incline, and the heart monitor.

Mine is a pretty good sized one that I got about 1 1/2 yrs ago at Sportmart. I belive I paid around $500 for it. But if you watch the ads for Sportmart, and a few other places, you can get a pretty good treadmill for a decent price.

Good luck finding one.:D

THanks a bunch. I will see if I can find somewhere that has this brand.

I actually bit the bullet and bought a good treadmill - a PaceMaster Pro Elite. It cost alot, but it is so worth it. The thing is heavy duty and never gives me any trouble. I went to a fitness store to buy it. The motor is under warranty for 25 years - and probably by then, I won't even be able to use the darned thing anymore!:p

Also great warranty on all other parts and labor.

Whatever you decide, have fun with it. I LOVE my treadmill. I used to walk it in the gym, but got sick of the "meat market" atmosphere there. Now I watch whatever I want on TV while walking - I can take a bathroom break or even a DIS break.;) Can't do that at the gym.:p

grinning ghost,
How much did you pay? You can give an estimate if you like. Did you ever have any problems with your machine? How long have you had it?
THanks.
Cathy
