What are the benefits of running/walking with an incline. Will this help tone my butt, hips and legs better than w/out the incline. What should I set the incline at? :confused3

I run/walk at an incline because it makes you work harder and raises your heart rate. Without the incline, I have trouble getting my heart rate up high enough to burn the max. calories. I started off at incline of 1 and now I'm at 4-5. I adjust the incline to where my heart rate is at an aerobic burn.
 
It also makes it seem more realistic as if you we walking/running outside so you can compare miles/time out and in easier... (that is what I heard on the Today show. :rotfl2: -- but it makes sense)
