Travelocity has some great rates and discounts right now. We can save about $800 going through them. Anyway we have always booked with Disney, what is the difference when booking with a company other than Disney? In otherwords once I book and pay is it handles the same as a regular res make through Disney?

It is not the same in that you can't call Disney with requests only through Travelocity. Also online check in was a little tricky. I had to work with the help desk to do it. But don't let that deter you! We used Travelocity because we had credit card points to book hotel rooms through them. We were very happy

We just used them and our stay is coming up in about ten days or so. The rate was basically the same except we went thru ebates and got an additional 6.5% cash back which was nice. Just a thought if you decide to go with them to book.

Just be sure to read through your offer's cancellation policies so you KNOW what you're booking.

And read through the whole page so you know how EASY it is to book Magical Express if that's something you're doing. So often people book through the online TAs, don't read the page (it's ON the page!), then freak out about how they are going to book ME when they don't have the Disney confirmation number. You don't need it; there's a website, you enter the TA's booking/confirmation number, it's easy peasy.

And this is just my idea, but I sort of wonder if the WDW site is making things a little easier with attaching your externally booked reservation. I booked through rundisney, and the confirmation i got had letters in it and numbers and is nowhere near as long as the normal number. But it was easily enterable (is that a word?) on disneyworld.com, and that funky confirmation number has been just fine on MyDisneyExperience in the reservations section.

Maybe it's just allowed for rundisney numbers, but if I were booking through a separate TA site I'd at least try. :)

Thanks all for the responses. :thumbsup2 I am sure it will be ok, I was just wondering about tickets (if they would be KTTW cards, paper mailed to us or something else altogether) and if our ADRs would still be there on MDE after I cancel our current room only package. Seems weird I know
@bumpershoot yes it does say how to do ME reservations on the booking page - thanks you:flower3:

One difference is that Travelocity charges your credit card in full for the entire reservation at the time you make it, verses Disney which allows you to make a one nights deposit with the balance due in full 5 days prior to your arrival (room only reservation). Also, if you use your Chase Disney Visa to pay for your room, they do not consider Travelocity the same as a Disney Package Vacation, so you don't get the 6 months interest free period to pay off your trip.:confused3
