Hello,

I am a year 13 design student who is looking to design and make a prototype of a portable product that will allow medicines to kept at a temperature between 2-8°C and will be ideal for traveling on all forms of transport.

I'm hoping to make contact with people who have this problem in order to help me develop a product. I will require people to fill in a questionnaire that will help me.

If you would be willing to assist me with my research please email me on cowlo003@bucksgfl.org.uk or by replying to this message.

Thank you.

You do know that products such as you have just described already exist, I assume.

Several that I'm aware of, even a custom one using Ni-MH AA batteries (or alkaline in a pinch) and a couple of Peltier plates with a thermocouple. And a standard thermos bottle filled and pre-chilled to 36F will keep it under 44F for 12 hours in 75F ambient temperatures - I used to travel in a car for work a lot and used them to keep fruits and veggies fresh in a standard liquid thermos, and when using non-liquids it's good to about half the rated time (mine was a 24 hour steel model), verified with an IR thermometer. Throw in a humidification tube and it's also a good way to travel with cigars for even very long periods that's cheaper than a portable humidor.
