Hi everyone,

We will be staying at POFQ for a week in March. First time visiting Orlando. I assumed that we have free shuttle (Disney's Magic Express) taking us from airport to resort.

We are travelling with our 2-year-old child, and will be visiting 2+ places (i.e. theme park + resort) per day, while returning to POFQ in between to allow my child to take a afternoon nap.

Would it be a nightmare to use Disney's transportation? Say, one day we will have breakfast at Chef Mickey (Contemporary).

I read some posts and would like to take a taxi, but I heard that we must bring a car-seat otherwise cab drivers will refuse our ride?

Car rental - I do not want to pick up vehicle at Orlando Airport. I heard there is a car rental company at Magic Kingdom. Would it be faster and more convenient? However, is the parking lot at Magic Kingdom very far away? Furthermore, is there any gas station within Disney area - as we don't really plan to go off-site in that week.

Please kindy advice :earsboy:

You are definitely entitiled to use the Disney Magical Express from and back to the airport.
We have not rented a car in many years. I don't know what to suggest with a 2 year old, although I have seen many children around that age on the Disney buses.
This will take you to the top for more responses.

Thanks wdwgoofeeee. :sunny:

While browsing other threads, I was almost decided to use Disney transportation during my stay. However, my wife just claimed that she would like to visit an outlet mall besides WDW for half-a-day. Any suggestions? should we take a cab instead of renting a car? There are 5 of us (4 adult + 1 infant), possibly need a mini-van taxi with car-seat.

I would recommend the use of the Disney Transportation services (i.e. buses, monrails, water shuttles). As a past cast member I can tell you that children of all ages (and many of the adults) simply view these as an extension of the park attractions. These is nothing like a monorail in the sky and kids of all ages always seem to love the buses. They like to make a game of trying to guess which bus will come next. Sure you may have to wait in a line (but this is Walt Disney World after all), but you would waste more time getting to and from your rental car and the taxis are expensive and not quite up to Disney standards.

Have a magical time! :earsboy:

The Premium Outlet Mall is fairly close to Downtown Disney, maybe a mile and a half or two miles away; a cab there would be reasonable.
The former Belz Outlet Malls - I don't know what they're called now - are further, but probably your best bet if it's just her is to see what Mears offers in the way of round-trip transportation. If it's more than just her, yeah, you may want to rent a car for a day.
