So....we just got back 2 weeks ago from WDW and found out that my DD's soccer team is heading to DW for the Disney Cup International Soccer Tournament.
Well of course I'm thrilled and can't wait to go except nobody else on the team 'gets it'!
We will be staying at Coronado Springs and are each given a $48 per day meal card. Whaaa.....I can't use it to book dining reservations?
Now for all you Disers, you KNOW that you just can't walk up to a restaurant and try to get seated. Disney restaurants are always booked up and at capacity. So I guess we will be stuck to a week of eating counter service type meals....:sad2:
I guess I should be happy in the fact that my family already has a trip booked for March to stay at Old Key West. I will have to make sure I get my Disney dining fix in then!

Why? If its a YES Program meal "gift" type card you should be able to use it anywhere.

If its all in meal vouchers then no.

Thats a weird amount though, when I ordered then for our band they were in normal amounts like $15, 20 25, 30 etc.

You can book restaurant reservations (often referred to here as ADR's) one at a time. Then after you eat, you should be able to pay for the meal with any combination of cash, credit card, meal card, Disney dollars, etc.

A common problem with sports, cheerleading, band, etc. trips is getting park tickets to include more days down there after the rest of the team goes home. Tickets that go with the team program (Youth Educational Series tickets) cannot be upgraded to have more days. Often the team leader insists on collecting everyone's tickets for one reason or another so if you succeeded in ordering more days on your daughter's, she might not get back the same ticket card next time she enters the parks. You (or your daughter) may even be required to stay in the resort where the team is staying.

The best way to deal with idiosyncrasies like this is to discuss it in advance with the team leader and try to work out individually different arrangements for rooms, meals, tickets, etc.

When we went for the New Year's Bash Baseball tournament (and also for Pop Warner) I added extra days on our tickets. We didn't all do arrive/leave the same days. I'm not sure if soccer would be the same but I had no problems doing that. We didn't do everything together as a team so didn't have to worry about mixing up tickets.

For whatever reason you must not have had YES tickets.

I thought it was a weird amount too. Isn't the adult price on a dining plan priced at $47.99 per day?
