Travelling from Downtown Disney area...

is it possible to walk to the Crossroads area from Downtown disney?..any idea how far it is?......are there any offsite restaurants close to Downtown Disney that are easily accessible?

It is indeed very possible. If you are staying at a DD hotel the walk would depend on which end of the hotel area you are at. The ones closer to the crossroads are would be a short walk. Of course the closer to the DDshopping area the further from Crossroads you are and thus a longer walk. There are sidewalks for most of the area. There are several restaurants in the Crossroad area. There ia a McDonalds,Hooters,TGI Fridays,I think a pazza place and I know many others but just can not think of which ones right now.

I would estimate that a walk from the shopping of DD to the beginning of Crossroads would be about a mile(maybe a bit more or less but it is hard to estimate)

It's not a terribly long walk...the longest distance would probably take you 15-20 minutes tops at a reasonable strolling speed.

There is a lot of stuff right int hat Crossroads area as far as restaurants. Goodings grocery store is there as well, but they can be expensive.

I think there is also a Red lobster and Perkins pancake house---the walk is not far from the downtown disney hotels.
