Travellers Cheques Question?

hi all

A friend of mine has some $ travellers Chq's left over from there holiday a few months ago, does anyone know if he can cash them into $ in the uk rather than having to exchange them to £ or pay them into his bank. As he wants to give them to me as a gift

If he has bought them from his bank I would think that there wouldn't be a problem. Sorry I can't be of more help, I usually put my unused tc towards my next holiday.
