Travellers Cheques at DL?

How easy is it to use Traveller's Cheques at DLR? It is down to 17 days till we leave (driving from Alberta so will arrive in Anaheim on the 17th) so I need to go get my US cash and have been debating back and forth about cash or traveller's cheques. If I get Traveller's Cheques it will just be part TC and the rest cash but for the safety of TC I am not sure how convenient they are.

They're pretty convenient. The cashiers treat them pretty much just like cash. All you have to do is do the second signature and date them in front of the cashier (he/she has to watch you sign them) and it's just like if you handed the cashier a bill of the same denomination. I'm not sure if ODV takes them, but any place with a cash register does and you will get cash back as change.

We used them in Nov and our hotel (Paradise Pier) would only cash $100.00 a day per room in travellers cheques and you needed picture id with you at the time of cashing. Some of the stores within DL would ask for picture ID but when I would tell them that I left my passport in the hotel (also from Canada) they agreed to accept them anyway.

I brought all TC and a couple hundred US cash, when we went last year. Your Alberta driver's license is all you need. You can even cash them at DLR (I believe it was at the bank or city hall) or as Lollipop's Mom stated at the snack cart.

I bring cash and TC. I use the cash first but will use the TC if I feel like it. I have had no problems using them. And they think that our birth certificate (small wallet sized, I am in Alberta too) is cute lol.
