Hey,

We're going in september, and would like to know what the situation is with travellers cheques? is it best to get USD or UKS, is it easy to cash/pay with them?

Also, where is best to get universal tickets from?

thanks!

I never take TCs, either get Dollars here if the rate is good, or just lift what i need when there, also use CC post Office one this year for shopping.
I bought my Universal tickets last Monday from USrentacar valid for 2 weeks from 1st use,for £84 each and no CC fees

If you're definately buying travellers cheques - then buy US $ ones which are widely accepted. Ive never bought UK ones and yes I do still buy travellers cheques - which we've bought for this years holiday to los angeles (we're off to experience disneyland instead)

We've just returned and had the same dilemma with TC. I spoke to a friend who works in Thomas Cook and we decided to get the pre-loaded card. It is a mastercard chip and pin and we found it invaluable - it is just like a debit card - only it's not linked to any account - you pre-load it with your money before you go. I put £1000 on it and that worked out at $1600 dollars I think. They took the card everywhere and on most occasions we didn't need the pin or to sign as I think anything under $50 is just put straight though with no need for your PIN or signature.

I have read on here that there are various types of this card and I would highly recommend it - and that's from me who's sceptical about anything I've never tried before - take it from me it is the way forward - you don't need ID/Passports like you do with TC's just pay by card and that's it.

You can check the balance at an ATM and also withdraw cash (a small fee bout £1.50 per cash withdrawel) or you can check on line. The last few days I got a text from the card company to advise me of the balance too!

We got our Universal tickets from American Attractions- secure delivery and were about £84 per adult x

Thinking of getting the thomac cook pre paid card with US dol on it but have a question. I know if you withdraw money from a ATM there is a charge, but can you use a disney atm to just to only check the balance , WITHOUT:) a charge.
I would want to be able to keep track and will not have a computer or phone access.thanks
