Traveling with toddler on whole milk...

It's been a few years since I've had to worry about this, but a friend of mine is taking her 18 month old DS to WDW in October. He drinks whole milk out of a sippy cup about 4 times a day. She's staying in a Value, and is unsure if she needs to rent a fridge.

How do you other parents of young toddlers handle the milk situation? Do you rent a fridge and buy milk offsite? Do you just buy the single serve milks at the park? How much do you estimate it costs?

I would have her check into the fridge situation. I had heard that they were working on putting fridges in the rooms even at the values. We rented the fridge when we went with our DD a year ago. We had rented a car, so we were able to stop and get milk on the way into the hotel. While we were at it we got cereal and bananas too. We had breakfast in the room each morning rather than having to head to the food court. It was a huge money saver.

The hotels sell the little milks - like school lunch size. I know some of them have whole, because I use skim and could only find 2% and whole once.

We get the little jobbers for our cereal and keep them in the fridge.

How long is the trip? I wouldnt expect a short change to low fat would be a big deal

We're staying at a mod so don't have that problem!

However if we were at a value, I'd take a cool bag, buy a carton of milk each morning from the food court, fill the cool bag with ice and store it in there. It may be slightly more expensive, but it would cost even more to rent a fridge!!

You could also keep the milk on ice in the room using the ice bucket. Milk is also available at the parks, easily found at the counter service restaurants. At least, that's where we bought it when our kids were small.
