Has anyone traveled with their trading pins? I haven't been on a plane in over 20 years and now am going to Disneyland. Can we bring a book of trading pins in our carry on luggage?
Thanks.

You can take Disney Pins in your carry on luggage. Before my last trip (December 2010 :santa:) my mom and I went to the airport and specifically asked the TSA official, and showed him a handful of my pins (to make sure he knew exactly what I meant), and he said they would be no problem to carry on. Sure enough, 2 months later, I breezed right through security. However, if you are at all concerned, you could always do like I did and go to your local airport to ask. It took us less than 20 minutes, which was well worth it to set my mind at ease. I didn't want any chance of losing my pins to security!

I have taken about 400 pins in my carryon many times. They will want to go through them to make sure. One year coming back, I was sick and threw my pins in my checked in luggage and lo and behold, they were missing when I got my suitcase back. Don't ever put anything in your checked in luggage that you can't replace or has sentimental value. Delta did reimburse me for the missing pins but these were pins that I traded all week for. Just be prepared for them to open your bag.

You can take your pins as part of your carry-on. I've done this on all of my recent trips. As PPs have said, just be prepared to open the bag and have security look through it. I usually have the pins lose in ziploc bags for easier handling because they might fall out of the pin bag (I'm guessing your referring to a felt/fabric display bag like the ones they sell in the park).

We traveled by plane a couple years ago and had 500+ pins in our carry on luggage. As it has already been said, don't put your pins in your checked luggage.

As we passed through security it took us about 5 extra minutes, they seen all the metal and after asking what was in the bags, took the time to do a bit better check. Our pins are in zipped cases, so to save time and make it easier, leaving the bags unzipped helped.

The return trip from Orlando was simple... they just looked at us and said "PINS?" lol. They see them very often.
