Hello. Traveling with my sister who has an oxygen tank. She could handle the plane ride without it (about a 2 1/2 hour non-stop flight from Buffalo) but is there a way to get oxygen when we arrive? Has anyone traveled with an oxygen tank and how did you handle it? Thank you

If you take oxygen on a plane, it has to be a portable concentrator approved by the airlines, not a tank. Also, keep in mind it is harder to breathe at higher altitudes; my daughter doesn't use it normally, but needs oxygen on a plane. The airlines often require you to let them know in advance and may require a doctor's letter. You can call the airlines disability department for their requirements.

Post #30 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread pinned near the top of this forum has information about traveling with oxygen. You will need to contact the airline for their specific requirements, and her oxygen supplier should be able to arrange for her needs while in Orlando.

Enjoy your vacation!
