traveling with multiples!!

Jill - We first took the twins at 28 mos. It was a perfect age - old enough to be somewhat self-sufficient, but not yet potty trained. Our youngest was 4 mos for her first trip. We took her just after her 3rd b-day and I hadn't even started potty training. We were in the MK and she announced she had to go. Took her into the ladies' room and that was it. Done. Never had an accident. Thanked God that day because the twins were almost 4 before they were trained. Neither of them wanted to be the first not to wear diapers!

Kritter -

Finally am able to use my fingers again! It's been so danged cold here! Finally today we made it into the 20's. I've also had "Grandma duty" as my folks are in Mexico - picked a great time to be out of here!

Trying to get ready for Spring Break. Not doing WDW this year, but are headed to HI. So far I'm not thrilled with any of the clothing I've seen for spring. All the colors are dark and look like fall! Do they not understand I've been wearing the drab, dark stuff for the last 6 mos and would like to see some bright, uplifting colors for spring?

I hear you I went into the Gap today and all of their spring stuff seemed to be pretty BLAH!!! Wonder why everything is sooo dark??:confused3 :confused3

I just took my twins in November, a month after they turned 3. My dd was pretty closed to being trained. My ds is still working on the training thing. I'm hoping for before he gets to high school. :rotfl:

Anyway, we had a great trip. The kids were old enough to know exactly which rides they liked and wanted to ride again. Unfortunately, they weren't tall enough to ride everything they wanted to ride (they REALLY wanted to ride Thunder Mountain, but they were about 1/2 inch too short). Oh well, just means we'll have to go back. :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for your wisdom!

Kritter: We are planning on staying at either BCV or VWL in a 2 bedroom villa. Do you have other recommendations? We are going to be purchasing a DVC BCV resale sometime in the next six months so we will definitely be staying at a DVC location.

Any of the DVC locations are great! Nice thing about BCV and BWV is you can walk to Epcot & MGM or take the boat, and the best part is then you don't have to close the stroller! Just wheel it on and roll to the back of the boat. Don't have to worry about the bus for two of the four parks. I like these locations too because you have all of the great options right there on the boardwalk for dining and entertainment as well.

We own at BWV and OKW and I like them both for different reasons. We've stayed at VWL and while it was very nice, beautiful themeing, etc. I still prefer the location of BWV.

With all that said, you really can't go wrong with any of the DVC locations and accomodations. Good luck with the resale!

We own at SSR and love it....We are soo happy there....We have never stayed at BCV but our friends own there.......They love the zereo entry pool...
I know the timeshare store has great resale contracts. There are some great deals out there now. When we were on the cruise we were offered fifteen dollars off per point. So we added onto our contract..

Joanne, WELCOME WELCOME!!!!!!!!!

Kritter and llp: Thanks for the DVC input. We are planning on buying BCV resale - we both love the location and the fact that we can walk into Epcot easily. I think we may try to stay at VWL for the first trip b/c of its proximity to MK but we are looking at the purchase as a long-term thing and we know that we want to be able to stay at BCV for F&W and that the kids' favorite park won't be MK forever (though, at 31, it is still my favorite:) ). If they ever announce CRV, we would def. add on. The idea of walking to parks without having to fold up strollers is heaven to me!!

My trio is starting with the terrible two behaviors, temper tantrums, etc? Advice?

Also, one of my sons has discovered how to get himself out of his crib. The idea of putting him in a bed at 20 months when he will get out and run around and wake up his siblings doesn't really please me. Did any of you face that issue? If so, how did you handle it?

Yes, I did. My solution, crib tents! They are a bit expensive but well worth the $$. My boys started climbing out around two years old and I was in no way ready for them to be in toddler beds and get into more trouble so this was my solution and it worked great!

You are going to have a BLAST!! First, where are you staying and for how long.
You will have your hands full going alone. But they will be at a Great age. I would for sure take a stroller along for them. This will make it easier on you and them...

Kristin

I personally when I have done the parks alone I bring my own stroller. We went once with DH on a business trip and I did a few of the parks myself. The folding up the stroller for the bus is hard. But most peopel see that you are alone and are more than willing to help you out. I would just try not to push yourself and the kids and try to do too much in one day...
Another thing is then you have the stroller to store the backpack on etc....

HELLO.. WELCOME WELCOME!!!!!If you would like I can add your information to our first page.

You are going to love SSR. Try and request to be near the main building or in Congress Park so you can be near Downtown Disney. My kids love going there they have some cute little rides for your kids age to do.. Also there is a cute playground near Congress Park that is really cute and fun. Other areas of SSR have them too but Like I said Congress Park is near Downtown. Or request the Spring to be near the main pool and food. I would try not to get into the Paddock this is the fartheset away and long walk..

MK is probally what your kids will like the best. But MGM has a Honey I shrunk the Kids playtype thing I think this is what it is called. Also the play house disney show is great for this age and the Ariel show too. But beware Ursula is in the show it freaked my one daughter out at that age but it is short and cute they blow bubbles etc in the show. The parade there is cute too and at MK tooo. Also the dining with the Little Einsteins and JO JO is there too..
You could eat with Pooh too at MK..
Animal Kingdom my kids like the animals and the safari..
MK is what they will proabally enjoy the most!!!!

Steve,

I think the DIS boards are sooo addictive.. Once you start none of us can stop...LOL!!!!!

I have added your information to our first page. Just check to make sure it is right. We have a ton of families added to it now..

Do you want to know about AK the park or the Lodge?? The park is good but I think older kids get more out of it than the younger ones. My twins think that DH works "owns' AK since we were on a business trip for his work and they closed the park down for all of the company one night. Ever since then they tell everyone that his company "owns" AK..LOL!!!:lmao: :lmao:

There is only certain things my kids like to do at AK..

I think if you plan to go to or eat at more than one park on one given day then the park hopper option is best. Also, I like the no exp. option too. This way you may plan to go one day but what if the kids are cranky etc... Then you can always use the pass again on your next visit....

Check out undercovertourist.com you maybe able to get a code from mousesavers.com tooo to save you money. They seem to have some of the best prices around.......

Thanks everyone for your wisdom!

BCV! The pool is so fabulous. My kids weren't ready to leave to go to the parks.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone is having a great day...

One of mine is sick with a fever today....

I wasn't sure where to post this, but if any of you Multiple Moms have a suggestion for a good everyday twin side-by-side stroller please let me know. We've been looking and just can't decide. I'm leaning towards the Maclaren Twin Techno. Thanks!!
