does anyone know the restrictions regarding meds in checked bags? I can put over the counter stuff (eye drops, benadryl, etc) in my regular luggage right? I know that any meds brought on carryon need RX on bottle- I will do this for DS's steroids and nebulizer stuff.... any tips are appreciated- we are flying NY-CA (DisneyLAND!)
Thanks again!'

Hi
We flew to Orlando a couple of days before all the arrests in London. After the new restrictions came in we flew home from Orlando to Manchester England, we put our son's Epilepsy medicine and shringe in our hand luggage/take on bag. It went through the scanner ok and the officers never mentioned anything. We were a bit concerned about this and thought the scanner was not working correctly, so we told the officer we had put liquid medicine through. The officer said that the computer was programmed to look for certain liquids. The officer asked to see the medicine and said it was ok. Our medicine bottle did not even have a label on it with our son's name either as I had switched the glass bottle to a plastic bottle for travelling. But I was glad I had brought a copy of the prescription just in case of any hassles.

It is carry on bags that the restrictions cover. They don't care about medications in your checked bags because you won't have access to them once they are handed over at check in.
I would make sure that anything you might need in the next 12 hours or so is with you in your carryon though, just in case of lost bags.

just returned from newyork, only regulation was that medication have label with one of the travellers name on it which corresponded to passport. However we travelled with adrenaline syringes for nut allergy and were not stopped, these did not have labels on. Hope this helps...

I was just on TSA website yesterday. You can carry-on over-the-counter drugs. For liquids and gels the amount cann't exceed 4oz. The TSA website is pretty thorough.
