Our next trip will be with my in-laws and maybe (hopefully) my parents too.

I'd like to get 3, or maybe 4 connecting rooms at a value resort (POP) if its not too pricey. One for each couple, and maybe one for the 2 kids who will be going. They're 9 & 12 and another bathroom would be great! :thumbsup2

We'll be going late October or mid - MAY next year so not as pricey.

We LOVE being immersed in the Disney Magic, taking Magical Express and not renting a car.

But - if we can't get 3 rooms - or it they're too expensive, can anyone recommend a CLOSE hotel that might have 3-4 connecting rooms? The condos I've heard about are a bit too far.

Thanks a bunch all.

Ouch! That's alot of coin. I'd stay in a home for $150ish ($75 each couple) instead of $300 for 3 hotel rooms - magic or not.

Get a 3 or 4 bedroom presidential at Bonnet Creek- right beside CBR- contact Ken Price for info.

I agree, I would get a townhouse where everyone has their own bedroom & bathroom. So much more space and way cheaper than 3 hotel rooms. Windsor Hills is VERY close to Disney, about 5 minutes or so using the shortcut. :thumbsup2 You won't be disappointed.

Edited to add: You can surely get something in the way of a 3 bedroom townhouse @ WH with your own splash pool for around $100-$125 a night.

Thanks for the feedback.

Agree it's a lot of cash but if each couple pays for their own room - (POP at that time is less than $100) and we pay for an extra room for the kids, its not bad at all. We'd pay way more than that for an ocean front condo at the beach!

Because being on-site makes such a HUGE difference IMHO, and is worth the cost. To our kids, when we were onsite it was as much fun as the actual parks! For DH too since he didn't have to drive.
At the end of the day, when you go back to the onsite resort, you're still in the magic, plus the wake-up calls, the towel animals, the theme-ing, just the Magic! Y'all know the magic, you can't really describe it but I know we don't get anything close to it off site.

And yet, the cost savings might make it worthwhile .... and yet, if we can *afford* it, why NOT stay on site?
Plus then we can save on not renting a car! That would compensate for the extra $ towards rooms.
And can't y'all picture 3 (or 4 if my parents come) connecting rooms from inside? The kids can sleep till the last minute (although I might join them teehee) and the rest of us can wander back and forth. Then walk a few steps to the bus each morning. The only bus our kids like :rotfl:

BUT, on the OTHER hand, arrghh... I don't know what to do!:confused3

If you enjoy on site and the price is right, then I think you should do that. BUT...if you decide you can't afford the on site price for what you are looking at, then a townhouse or even a stand alone pool home is probably the best option for you off site. For less than $300/night I am sure you could get a pool home. Here are just a couple of random places I pulled off www.vrbo.com to give you an idea.

We rent a home every year with my parents and my in-laws and we have a fabulous time. We always get a place with 4-6 bathrooms and everyone gets their own room with their own TV. We have breakfast and coffee at the house and the kids can sleep while the adults are getting things ready and then it takes 10 minutes (if you stay in WH or WP) to get to the parks. We stay further out in Davenport so it takes us 20 minutes. If the kids want to go in the pool we don't have to pack up all our stuff from the hotel room and track down to the pool. The pool is right outside the sliding glass doors of the kitchen and we can relax pool side with drinks and snack.

It sounds like on-site is your first choice, but if that doesn't work, I think the best off site option is to rent a house.

Correct me someone if I'm wrong but can't you only get two rooms that connect to each other? I don't think you can do a chain of rooms. As far as I know each room only has one connecting door so you couldn't get more than two rooms actually connecting. You might want to ask that over on the resort board...

That is correct.

Have you considered checking the DVC rental board?

Disney will not guarantee connecting rooms if there are more than two adults in a room. You can request it but you may not get it.

Just returned from a trip, we stayed at Windsor HIlls, a 5 br 5 br home with a pool & hot tub, it was wonderful! Took maybe 10 minute drivwe to Disney parks and it was nice to have our own pool and make our own breakfasts/snacks. It was way more affordable then it would have been renting 3 hotel rooms! We had 2 King rooms, 1 queen room and 2 rooms that each had 2 twin beds. PM me if you want the landlords name, she was wonderful! She called midweek to make sure everything was going well.

I was so nervous about renting a home, I had never done it before. I was certain I was going to get there and have been scammed. lol. Luckily ti all worked out!

If you have 8 or more people you can do a Grand Gathering. We have done this and our four rooms were in a row, two sets of connecting rooms. ust tell Disney that you are doing a Grand Gathering.
