Traveling with grandparent(s)

Who has stayed onsite with your kids and grandparent(s)? Also, which resort and what time of year was it? Our next stay “could” include grandparents. They are elderly and I’m concerned about the heat in the summer. Most likely resort will be the Poly because of the monorail access to MK and EPCOT. Thanks.

The Polynesian would be a good choice--none of the rooms are too far from the GCH.

In all honesty I don't always think the monorail is such a great thing. Remember, to go to Epcot you still need to transfer, and those are long, steep ramps to climb at the TTC.

You might also want to consider renting at the BCV, they are fairly close to Epcot, and if you cut through rahter than walking all the way around inside it's pretty close to the bus stop as well. The villas are large and comfortable, and offer much more room than a regular room, and all the amenities of home. If I were taking my mother this is where I would stay, she could be comfortable relaxing in the villa if she wsa too tired or sore to manage the parks anymore.

I took my grandma to the AKL last year. She used her wheelchair for the entire trip. We found the bus service to be excellent. It was easier doing the bus route than the monorail/boat route. Plus, AKL does not share its buses with other resorts so you will most likely always have a seat. When she didn't feel like going to the parks, she loved going on the balcony to check out the animals. We didn't have children with us, but I'm sure children would be impressed too.
