We are planning a trip. My DH, my sister and I. My sister is the smoker. We don't. So....any suggestions regarding best hotel/resort that accomodates smokers. Are there designated places for smoking around the parks?

We plan on staying 2 rooms. Non-smoking for us and smoking room for her. Unless we spurge on a suite.

Suggestions appreciated.

Yes, there are smoking areas in all the parks. They are marked on the park map or they can look for the trash cans with ashtrays in the top of them. Never assume that just because you see someone else smoking you are in a smoking area. (boy, was that embarrassing) :)

I think all the resorts have smoking and nonsmoking rooms. I haven't stayed at enough of them to be able to compare their public smoking areas.

You may have already done this but I'd also make sure your sister prefers a smoking room. A lot of smokers would prefer not to smoke in the close confines of a hotel room and would just as soon have a non smoking room. Then your rooms could be closer.

Nice of you to consider this for her when you don't smoke. Depending on where you're from and what the laws there are the fact that all Florida restaurants are completely smoke free might be something you want to prepare her for as well.

Wife and I both smoke, but don't smoke in the room. We rent points from DVC member for BWV studio, and smoke out on the balcony, even though there are smoking rooms available. Also convenient to smoke out on the Boardwalk itself, or during the walk over to Epcot.

I smoke, my husband does not (nor would I ever smoke around my daughter). The weather is so nice that I recommend getting a NS room and having the smoker go outside. we stayed at ASMo most recently and there was a little garden area outside where they stored the golf carts for the CM's and very few people or guests walked. it was a nice out of the way place for me to smoke that didn't bother anyone else - I just drifted to the other side of the garden whenever someone walked by so that they weren't breathing my smoke, and I didn't have to worry about it drifting into anyone's rooms or anything.

cough cough cough cough cough cough :scared:

Walt Disney died from smoking.

please help us all live :badpc:

This advice seems misguided. There may be one or two non-smokers who actually prefer their non-smoking rooms to be smoke-free. Also, if your rooms were farther away, there could be less of the close confines and more of the walking outside.
