Traveling Turkeys 2010

Sitting at the Orlando airport waiting for the flight home and remembering the cruise. It was great meeting all of you and getting all those creative FE gifts.

Well of the 11 of us 8 came down with a case of the Noro. At least all were healthy for Castaway!. Even with the problems all had a good time for most of the trip. Catherine really enjoyed the FE event it was like Christmas each day for her 2 children.
We had an uneventful trip back to Hilton Head. It would have been a great week end if only the Gators had won.
We hope that all enjoyed the cruise and we are thinking of another in the future. Perhaps a 5 day Dream with 2 Castaway days.
Be well.
Thanks for all those who organized the FE.

Steve

Thanks for making our first FE experience so much fun! Next time I will certainly label our gifts so that you know what we gave.... All of the treasures were LOVED by my kiddos... THANK YOU all so much.

Too bad we are home, and headed back to the real world. Wasn't Friday at CC WONDERFUL? I agree, next time I am going to try to book a double dip :yay:

Sorry to hear some of you were sick with Noro... on one Alaska cruise we were on, the staff came down with Noro bad, and they had the musicians serving food!

Hope everyone had a great trip home. Have a blessed Holiday Season!

I would like to share pictures. What do we do so that we can safely share our photos with each other?
When I get back home I want to tell U about the pixey dust we received on our last night. Dana got a private viewing with all the characters before the final show in the lobby. SOOO COOL!

Just got home yesterday evening. We spent a night at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and come home Sunday. We took Lorelei to see Santa on Saturday at DTD. She was not a fan, but we still got the pics anyways.

It was so great to meet all of you and I hope that everyone had a great time. No Noro for any of us, but I got one heck of a sinus head-cold thing Friday morning. Castaway just made me even sicker but thank goodness none of the rest of the family got it. Thanks for all the great FE gifts! :goodvibes

We'd love to share pics if someone comes up with something.

We just got home tonight and wanted to say a Big Thanks to Everyone and the FE Exchange!! It was so much fun and such wonderful and different ideas!! It is so much fun the see the kids eyes pop open everytime they saw something new!!
We had such fun and boy my feet hurt after the past couple of days at WDW after the cruise.!! LOL
So sad to see it end and would love to do this again if possible!! Thanks again and hope everyone is doing well and if anyone would like to keep in touch, we are on FB ( FACEBOOK) and if you forgot our names then PM me and I will let you know it again or send me your name on FB and I will send a Friend request to you all.

Very COOL About Dana and her pixey dust private viewing!!!!:wizard:
I suggest FB ( because on facebook you can make everything to be safe and not seen but only to your friends)

As I was reading the thread before we sailed, I understood the concept of Fish Extender gifts, but had no idea what the name meant. Then we checked in across from a family with one, plus lots of fun magnets. Who designs the fish extenders? Next time we're on the Magic, I think it would be fun to participate. HerQSmee, we were a few doors down from you and my family and I enjoyed seeing your door changing each day as more magnets were added.

Overall we had a great time, although two of my children did get motion sick, on Saturday night and Monday afternoon. They bounced back quickly, thankfully. In 7 cruises it was the first time we had rain at all, and also the first time we experienced the pools being closed due to high wind. My younger two were happy to play in Mickey's Ears and in the little splash area on those days.

Our dining room service was very inconsistent, unfortunately. It was nothing major, but just enough to be annoying. Our daughter has multiple food allergies and we did have a good experience with Chef Matthew, and with the pastry chefs, who made her "safe" desserts (which is hard to do when you are allergic to wheat, milk, and eggs). Chef Matthew chose us as his Magical Family for the cruise, which was sweet.

The best part is that we didn't have any of the vacation is over let down, because we will be back on the Dream in less than seven weeks now. Woohoo!

I just got back underwater close-ups of stingrays. I'll see if I can post them here since people are not included in most of them. We participated in the 2:00 feeding after the snorkel excursion near Castaway Cay across from the adult beach. I recommend the snorkeling in Turtle Cay. I found the Castaway Cay snorkel opportunity too difficult for children. We went out and came right back. Several children returned to the boat after just a few minuets leaving only adults in the water. I found it much harder to swim in that water and some people commented about the gear leaking and footwear not fitting well. Dana had her first panic attack ever! Even though she had just been snorkeling 2 days earlier at Turtle Cay/Cove and loved it.

Can't believe it has already been a week since that amazing horn duel between Magic and Wonder. This was our first Disney cruise and we were bowled over by the experience. We loved being on the ship and ieven got Geary eyed Saturday morning when we had to leave. Thank you to everyone for all the fish extender gifts. What a fun experience. The kids were so excited to check every time we went by the room and they loved making deliveries. We had a fun day at Kennedy Space Center on Saturday and then an early flight home. Since being home my 7year old DS has been making Lego Magic's and decorating is bedroom door.

Thank you again to you all and especially HerrQSmee for organizing and making the t-shirts. We had great comments on them and enjoyed meeting several of you.

Every time I look back at this page, my ship, slips a little further away. My ties to the ship, all the staff & crew, on the Magic, my feeling magic are coming back down to reality. I don't seem to inspire a smile from store clerks or as I walk down the block. My meals come with onions now even though I explain that I'm allergic. No one's asking if I enjoyed my day or if I had a chance to see the show. I carry my own packages home, I don't find towels in cute shapes, now I just find them on the floor, shape unknown.

OK guys it has been almost a year!
Where are you going?
Thought about the Disney Dream?
We are planning another Thanksgiving Disney cruise for 2013.
Any body work that far ahead?
Steve
