Hello everyone! First time posting but have loved using all the great information in the boards to plan our Disneyworld trip. We are going to the Magic Kingdom this Friday morning and we are staying at the Coronado Springs Resort and have a rental car. We are planning on getting to the park at 8 or as close to as possible to take advantage of the Early Magic Hour. Would it be quicker to just jump in the rental car and park there or use he resort buses? We’re super torn because we’ve heard conflicting things about transportation issues at Disney Springs but have also heard parking at Magic Kingdom and getting to TTC, through security, etc can also be a nightmare.

Use the resort buses.

Dont forget it costs money to park at the TTC!!!!
Buses are part of the Disney Journey, to be honest with you the rental and Vehicle parking lines (YES there are lines for them as well) will add a little sour to your trip.
What problems have you heard about Disney Transportation??

If you drive, it will take you about 10 mins to get to the TTC. Then you'll park. Then you'll have to get from your parking spot to the main entrance to TTC and go through security. Then to either the monorail or the ferry. Wait for that, ride to MK. That would take at least 30 mins total.
If you take the bus, you may wait up to 20 mins for the bus, then ride the 10 mins to the park. More than likely, it will end up taking you half the time if you use the bus though.
Most of us here always suggest taking the bus to MK vs driving...it's almost always faster. It's certainly easier!

I know the official line is "busses run every 20 minutes", but I would plan on waiting 40 minutes for a bus.
Even if the busses run on time, they can fill up, forcing you to wait for another.
Worst case? You're at MK early.

True, but that is worst case scenario! In all my stays at WDW, I've had just two bus waits that were more than 25 mins. And that early in the morning, the wait shouldn't be more than 25 mins.

:welcome: to Disboards!

I think you have your answer but I'll add my vote for taking the bus.

Of course it's the worst case. Plan for the worst, hope for the best. :)

Since this seems to be your first visit to WDW, I just wanted to let you know that Coronado Springs Resort is on the opposite side of the WDW complex from Disney Springs, the shopping, restaurant & entertainment district. So the transportation issues at Disney Springs won't affect your journey from Coronado Springs one bit.

And I agree - take the bus!

In the morning it’s easier.

Then in the evening when you’re exhausted and just want to be “home” and your bus is the second furthest pickup stop away and you have to wait for three or more buses to fill, you’ll wish you drove.

It’s THAT part that has me drive for MK days.
