Travelers Checks at Disney World

Can someone tell me if they have used travelers checks in the parks, and if so have you ever had any problems cashing them. We are going to be there in 2 weeks, and we want to bring travelers checks with us. We thought we would use them for food, souviners, etc. Thanks

Hi,

We use travelers checks all the time at Disney. never had a problem cashing them. Just make sure to have a picture Id with you(just in case).

Plus all you have to do is make it out the travelers check to WDW.

DH and I used Traveler Checks at WDW and we didn't have a problem. Just show your ID and that's it.

We have used traveler's checks every visit to Disney World and absolutely have had no problems.

We've used them many times. Only time we did have a problem, we handed over a $500 one and it took a bit of time until it was verified.

I've always used them many times without any problems! Thinking about it though, I haven't used them for my last few trips.

Thanks everyone for your information on our use of travelers checks. I didn't think we would have a problem, but with todays world, who knows. A few months ago I pulled into my banks drive-thru window and wanted to have change for a $ 20.00, the teller asked me if I had an account with them, (boy did that make me mad) just to break a 20, you would have thought it was many 100s. She told me if I didn't have an account she could not change the bill. So we will use some travelers checks and our credit card, or debit card.

I have used them without any problems, just make sure you have your ID with you.

Another way of doing things is to charge the purchases to your room (on your key card) and then go down to the front desk with your traveller's cheques and pay your charges that you put on your card.

All we used were American Express Traveler's Checks on our visit to WDW last month. We used them for everything (including food and souvenirs) and we never had a single problem.
