The other day I was wondering what is in everyone's emergency kit & now the Funny Meme thread has me wondering what's in everyone's travel stash.

A Starbucks Iced Macchiato
Combos
Doritos
Rootbeer
Twizzlers
Peanut M&M's
A Dunkin Donut blueberry munchkin
Coca Cola coffee for a jolt when I'm feeling sleepy

I promise I won't complain about those darn fillingless Combos... :P

New go to: Scorchin' Cheddar Pringles. All three of us are hooked.

Otherwise, a tub of cashews and Mountain Dew Zero holds us.

Oh, and homemade M&M chocolate chip cookies

I don't really have a travel stash, but I will not board a plane without a bottle of water and some kind of snack. When you board a plane you only think you know when you're getting off. ;) With a trip upcoming I bought one bag of "Turtle" Chex Mix and one bag of savory Chex Mix. Unfortunately most of the Turtle mix is already gone. :rolleyes1

I want to point out how pleased I am the no-one is making their travel day tougher by struggling through home made fudge the day before travel makes you wish roadstops had booze slushies for passengers (unless that's s just me.)

For plane rides we always have a Starbucks drink in the airport... As my daughter says, "Airport Starbs just taste better".

For the actual plane ride I get water, Bold Chex Mix (when available) and either Sour Patch Kids or those little Godiva pearl candies.

I haven't been on a plane in over 10 years but for car or RV trips - for me mixed nuts or trail mix, cheese and crackers or some pre-packaged protein pack from the grocery and fruit of some sort. For hubby - fix bars and mixed nuts. For the dog - Jacks Links turkey sausage.

Recently drove to South Carolina. In our car we had:

cheese sticks
sweet and salty popcorn
chips
water
gatorade
peppermints
goldfish
peanut butter crackers

A stop at Bucees in Alabama added French Burnt Peanuts, cotton candy and Icees to the mix.

We also carried a cooler so we could stop for lunch at a rest stop.

If we're just talking me on a flight/train, I tend to have the following, depending on the length (5 hour flight, I have all of this - 2 hour flight and I have 1 fruit and 1 snack)...

2 green tea bags with a single serve raw honey packet (this is my afternoon health tea, and I tend to fly in the afternoon)
Empty water bottle filled up with water at the airport
Squeezeable applesauce (under the limit or bought at the airport)
A banana
Pretzels
Peanuts in some way - PB and honey sandwich, single serve peanut, etc. I don't eat this unless we have some travel hiccup and I need the protein, since I have allergies, so I try to be mindful too (but I can't have tree nuts or dairy, and I don't do jerky and folks will kill you for tuna smell, so peanut it is)
Swedish fish - for "emergencies" when I feel motion sick even with my dramamine - somehow sugar helps - my science kid explained why, but I have no idea...

I don’t have a set list. We usually take water in the car. On a road trip, we usually end up stopping at Cracker Barrel for our first meal, and end up buying snacks there for the next section of the trip. There are some things you can only get on the road.

For flights, I always need twizzlers and pringles. At this point, it may be some superstition I've conjured up for luck. Lol.

Haven't had a road trip in forever but all I usually need is a case of water because road trips always mean Bucees around here... Aka snack heaven.

If it is car travel then my go to is grapes. Green grapes. My Mom always had grapes as part of our vacation snacks.

If it is plane travel then it’s whatever hits my fancy in the airport shop.

I do want to say, though, that if you do bring crunchy snacks on a plane please be considerate of those around you. People who can’t handle hearing people eat don’t have anywhere to go. Please eat like well mannered humans.

You need something sweet, something salty, something chewy, something crunchy and something sorta healthy.

We taking a road trip on Monday and I already have pringles, mini belvita biscuits, licorice, almonds and bananas.

Road trips: Rod pretzels, those little packages of peanut butter crackers and on the way home road trip I like to stop and buy a Twinkie or Hostess cupcake....just cuz! :)

Air travel: Water and a bag of chips

We recently went on vacation, traveling by car. I packed a cooler that various cans of pop to suit everyone's taste. For food we had mini bags of chips, goldfish, animal crackers... for me I threw in a box of "woven wheat" crackers. Those things are a recent discovery for me, and I like them.

Our staple road trip candies are Twizzlers and Werthers (now sugar free for DH). We always have mixed nuts or peanut butter crackers for protein, as well as some other snacky thing like Goldfish (but that one varies). Plenty of water and Gatorade as well!

For air travel, we always each had a water, and I would pack two snack bags - the main one with peanut butter crackers and fruit snacks, and an alternate with Slim Jims and fruit snacks in case they announced a nut-free flight. I found quick access to protein and sugar was important to avoid vacation meltdowns!
