Hello my fellow Disney Campers,
My family and I are looking to purchase our first travel trailer. We always camp at the Fort with my parents, but with 3 children and our love of camping we best get our own now!

We are looking for:
Bunk Room (with small dinette)
Outdoor Kitchen
U-Shaped Dinette - we could care less if there is a couch, but we need a space for game night!

Also we have a Suburban and our tow capacity is 8,200 lbs. so we need light weight.

Would love to hear your recommendations for what you all use and why you love it. I know there aren't many choices out there with our criteria, so I am curious if I am missing something. Most of our camping trips will be at the Fort - and we already have 4 trips books for 2017 so need help deciding!

Thanks for your help!

:welcome: Valentine! You found a great place.

Oh... Keep looking. The light weight, bunk room TT is a HUGE market segment. Every trailer manufacturer has something that will meet your needs.

First, if you've been camping in trailers, you already have an idea of what to look for and what to expect. That's a good start. 8200 lb tow rating should get you a 7000 lb dry weight trailer. Gives you enough capacity for "stuff" to put inside.

Here's a quick twin bunk (4 beds), U dinette, outdoor kitchen AND a couch. 6273 lb dry weight. Looks pretty good!

Take a look at the Keystone Bullet 308BHS. We originally wanted the floor plan you wanted but I found this model with dual slide outs for a dry weight of only 6100 lbs. Believe it when I say it that when you have a slide in your bunkhouse, it makes all the difference in the world, especially with 3 children. Plus, the rear sleeps 5, acts as a nice game/rec room during the day, and closes off from the main living space. Another great thing about this model, it's only about 3 feet longer than the 1 slide models and it's an ultra light. Construction is aluminum and the floor plan offers you a nice outdoor kitchen, a bumper bbq, a second entry door. Having 3 little boys myself, I know the importance of easy access to the bathroom. We've spent over 40 nights in ours since April and it's only gotten better. We're on our way to the Fort tomorrow for a week coming from Michigan.

Also, I originally thought the U shaped dinette was spacious. But the corners are really not utilized. Many of the coaches we looked at were going back to the 4 seat traditional design in 2016. RV shows are helpful when in the market for a new RV.

I also pull this camper with a GM SUV, a Yukon XL Denali (very similar to the Suburban but with the bigger V8 engine). Tows wonderful with a nice WDH.

Good luck with your purchase. It was fun shopping for ours. Took us nearly a year to decide!

We live in FL :) There is an RV show in Tampa in November so we are planning on going to that. Thank you all for your input so far!

We are also begenning our search(again, went with a boat a few years ago instead and sold it after a couple years)

Our dream trailer is an airstream but they are so expensive I doubt we will go that way for a few years after kids are off to college.

What does everyone think about Jayco?

The Jayco Hummingbird looks like a very affordable light weight trailer with lots of good standard options.

As does the Keystone Bullet Crossfire looks good as well.

I like that Jayco has the 2 year warranty

We love our Jayco. It is our third one. I doubt we will ever buy another brand. If the new owners do as good a job as the previous owners. The 2 year warranty is great.

This is the one we are looking at buying, this is the Flagstaff Microlite bunkhouse with u shape dinette. Flagstaff and Rockwood make the same model, both made by forest River. We like that the Murphy bed is a major space saver and makes the trailer shorter.

R-pod 182g fits every requirement you listed. We looked at a friends a couple days ago and loved it. It's very high on our list and we are going to start looking for one at the local dealers.

They are small but it feels big enough for our family and i love the outdoor garage/kitchen/tv
