travel time question (how bad is the traffic?)

hi ...
we'll be staying with family in mission viejo beginning to 2/11
we have reservations at disneyland hotel for 2/14 to 2/18
we would like to check into to DL hotel and be at DL park opening (10am)

here's my question ... what time do we leave mission viejo?

according to mapquest it's a 25 mile trip to DL ... and should take about 30 minutes ....

but 2/14 is a monday morning and that 30 minute estimate doesnt allow for traffic ...

we'd like to get to the hotel about 8am ... gives us time to check in (get our tix and leave our bags) and grab a quick breakfast before getting to the park between 9:30 and 10am

what do you think?
how long with it actually take us with monday am rush traffic?

I would allow an hour & a half at least on a Monday morning. Hotel check-in isn't until 3pm, but you can always leave your luggage at the desk (or in your car for the time being), and have breakfast and explore the resort until the park opens.

Monday, Feb 14, is a school holiday (Lincoln's Birthday) for my school district. Some parents might choose to take the day off from work so that will help relieve some traffic.

I would allow an hour. If you can, check sigalert.com for real time traffic conditions on the 5. It has saved me from sitting in gridlock traffic a few times.
