Can yall give me an idea of typical travel time for this schedule on a Thursday evening?

We are taking Disneyland Express and they recommend getting on a bus at 6:50pm- arrive at SNA by 7:30pm for a 9:25pm flight.

From reading this board, it looks like SNA is a very small airport, not too busy, easy to get through security, etc.... Do I *really* need to be there 2 hours in advance?

From past experience on a typical night (I know all kinds of crazy things can happen!) would you take the 6:50pm bus or the 7:50pm bus out of Anaheim?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

It only takes 30 minutes to drive to SNA. No problem.

Always when taking a shuttle they will get you to any airport with 2 hours to spare.

If 6:50 and 7:50 are your only options, I would probably go with the 6:50...just to be safe. The later one does not leave a lot of time in the event that something came up that delayed getting to the airport/flight.
I am like you though...I want to hang at the airport as little as possible.

ETA - Have a great time Patty! Can't wait to hear about your trip ~

Thanks Skiing! I thought it was something close to that, but wasn't sure.

Thanks Jana! Totally excited. As you know, we are WDW family, but this experience has gotten me VERY excited about DL. Seeing the original, being where Walt was, yeah, I get it now---- I think it's going to be a special experience. I was there last when I was 3 years old, so it's also kinda nostalgic for my mom to go back for the first time in 35 years--- with 3 of her kids and all her grandkids. She's not as much of a Disney dork as I am (ok, she's not at all!) but she said we went 2-3 times a year when we lived in CA back in the day. So there was something magical about Disney for her back then- hoping she finds it again!

I know, I wish I could split the difference. My concern is taking 9 kids (yes, 9!!!) to a small boring airport to cool our heels for 2 hrs. Vs staying at the pool or DTD for an extra hour, KWIM?

I'm thinking I'll gamble with the later one right now. If everyone else (other adults) freak about it, we will catch the earlier one. The reservation lady made it sound like that would not be a huge issue, though she was pushing for the earlier one anyway.

You might have to tell DLRE that you have a 10:15 flight. Kind of like giving DME a different flight number so they take you to MCO later.

Do you know I've never thought about doing that. I wish I had last trip- I was stuck at the airport way too long way too early!
